Sigma - 79 (new mix!)

Recommended Posts

This is a mix of hip-hop tracks that were all released in 1979, although there may be some debate over the year of release of one or two of these songs.

Don't expect pristine sound quality throughout! biggrin.gif

This is really good mix tape. The tracks are a mix of timeless classics, amazing stuff I've never heard before and some just mental stuff that I was not expecting. The thing that stood out for me most though was the technical stuff. The mixing and cutting you've done on here makes it a really enjoyable listening experience. Dope Steve, now you need to do a golden era one. I'll expect it next week!

Thanks a lot mate! I dunno about next week on that golden era one though, lol.

I dunno if it's the DJ Format (it appears to be), but he commented on this mix on SoundCloud and said he'd like to promote it. Perhaps it's just some fool using his name, but if it's the real dood, that's really cool! :d

It has to have been man, cos I don't see how else he would have caught on to it. Thanks a lot for the help you've given me in promoting this!

The feedback I've had from this has been wicked. It gave me a buzz like I haven't had from DJing since I played my first live gig.

Man, its a shit hot idea, well executed. I'm surprised its never been done before tbh. Hopefully Pipomixes will pick up on it as well as Kevin Nottingham. It wouldn't hurt for you to get in touch with both of them too I reckon.

Cheers, Jimmy! I'm amazed by those SoundCloud stats. It's hit the 100 download limit and had 245 plays in 2 days. It's been downloaded over 1,300 times via the MirrorCreator links. I hope I don't sound like I'm bragging, cos I'm just really pleased! I didn't expect that at all.

It was the real DJ Format. He contacted me today, although I haven't got back to him yet (I'm about to do it now). He asked if I was Wax On, so he must have picked up on it through Wax, so thanks for that mate!

Joe - Thanks mate. Could you use one of the links in the first post to put it on your blog? Those are all of the links I have as I don't have any dedicated hosting for it.
