  1. God damn Steam sales! I can't resist I've picked up these so far: Deus Ex: HR Batman: Arkham City Alan Wake SW:Kotor Portal 2
  2. I'm very tempted as well. It does sound super cool, but I don't want to pay full price for Arma 2 just to play a mod which is still in Alpha stage. If they lower the price a bit more in the Steam sale I might pick it up.
  3. Does it have to be a video Yoshi? I'd like to enter but I haven't got any decent video recording shizzle.
  4. Poster is 83% complete . Hoping to have it finished during the weekend.
  5. Didn't know that. When did you used to play it? I played it since Beta 6.6 until the released it on the HL2 engine, then I stopped playing it so much as I don't think it was as good (although I still played a bit). What clan were you in? I was in [R!F], think we got to number 10 on the clan base ladder at one point, although that's probably pretty shit actually, it wasn't hard to move up. Wow you're oldschool! I started just when 1.3 was released and when I stopped it was 1.6. I tried CS: Source but yeah I agree it wasn't that good. I was in [POLO] and a more serious clan called [s7] but we didn't play Clanbase or online ladders, too much lag . We played PCW's online just via IRC, but real matches we only played on LAN. Don't really know any English teams apart from 4kings.
  6. Used to be really good at Counter Strike. Never bothered with 'free for all' but played 5on5 in a clan back in the day and went to tournaments and stuff. But I also played practise matches with my team for about 3 hours everyday and a lot more on weekends! I've always been pretty decent at most FPS games, but I never play them anymore. I find single player boring and you have to invest so much time in it to be able to compete online, so nowadays I only play RPG's
  7. fuck em, thats what i say! get em sent home! garrrrr. stealin our jobs, our women, OUR TURNTABLES!!! Right so Symatic is not going on the poster then. Would be great if you could bring it down for a spastic like me Eric!
  8. Wouw! that's a bit harsh. Crazy Danes! It's Kroner by the way. Not Krona!
  9. Yeah sorry man, I was too hungover the last time and Luton just seemed like the other side of the world all of a sudden. I'll try to come up with a poster but I ain't putting no god damn balloons on it!
  10. Yeah I'd much prefer to do it in London also (mainly cause I live around the corner from Jimmy so I'll be able to make it there even if I'm hungover ). I'll bring a Canon G11 this time, It's a pretty decent camera. SSS Cake would be brilliant haha! What about the first Sunday in November then? EDIT: Symatic beat me to it. Mid november is cool for me too.
  11. I found chirps really hard in the beginning as well on DVS. But then after a few days I just got used to the slight delay. Now when I go back to cut on real vinyl I always have to do chirps for few minutes to re-adjust and make them sound clean.
  12. Lol! Didn't see your poster before now Mikey.
  13. Sorry it's a bit shit this time. Last minute thing. I love the graphic design style used for the New York subway so I wanted to do this thing with a subway map where the stations were our names but was too time consuming, and I didn't have time to finish it, so I just did only the title in that style. But hey it's a poster!
  14. I'll bring my Hak if you carry it
  15. Yeah I'll see if I can come up with something. But then I want VIP status, one of the 1200's reserved for me, and a packet of Doritos Tangy Cheese crisps.
  16. I'm okay for the 2nd. I can bring mixer and carts as well. Wanna meet at St. Pancras at 12:00 then? Hopefully we don't have to get a bus this time
  17. In regards to your initial question. If you don't see it as a problem scratching on your own then I don't think it's a problem. But since you started this thread with a question like that then maybe that means that you do see it as a problem yourself in some way (sorry to sound like a shrink lol)? I think it's absolutely fine to use scratching only as a means to express yourself, but If you're not enjoying it, then there's no point in doing it. If you're bored of cutting at the moment then take a break and focus on mixing and production. Just do what you enjoy doing mate. You mentioned that you're not really interested in learning any new techniques, but perhaps that could be just the thing you need to start enjoying scratching again? What I mean is that if you learn more techniques, or even just try a different style than you're used to, then it'll make it easier to express yourself. Sometimes I want to express something, or get a certain feeling across in my cuts, but I find that the limited techniques I know hold me back so I try to find a way to achieve the sound and feeling I want through learning new and different techniques. I have to agree with Steve here. It seems a waste to practice something for that long if you're never going to use it or show it off. It's nice to show people what you've been fiddling with. I love hearing you guys at the Super Scratch Sundays, and I've learned a lot from Doob and yourself which is great. And just because you're not at Chiles level doesn't mean you can't add anything to the world of scratching. Everyone has a different style and it's not only about technique and speed but also about musicality. You've obviously got rhythm mate, otherwise you wouldn't be able to mix like you do, and that's the most important thing IMHO. Just relax on your OCD, nobody is perfect and nobody here is going to judge you. Personally I'd love to hear some cuts on your mixes, and I think it could take them to a new level and add more of your own personality. Just my 2 cents anyways. I'll stop rambling now!
  18. Cool. See you at 12:00 at Victoria. It's gonna be pissing down all day
  19. So did I I'm getting the train anyways if you want to join me Jimmy (if you're not getting a lift of course).
