assemblyworker
ANyone know of any? Currently have said device but it doesn't fully cater to my needs. I really don't need all the scene launch buttons but could really use better faders, without lag (!!!) and more pots. I've searched a few times and never find the right thing, except for a dude in the state who does custom builds... Could be an option but I'd need a few more paid gigs before I splash out £1500 on one. Any help greatly appreciated.

assemblyworker
Had a peek at those a while back, look very cool but still not what I'm looking for, cheers for the link though.
DJ Rock Well
Any of the Livid Instruments stuff any good for you... I'm sure they did some sort of mix and match modular controller.http://www.lividinstruments.com/hardware_elements.php
assemblyworker
Oh now that's more like it, cheers!
scottie(the)goonie
Behringer makes a line of modular controllers in the same spirit of Livid, but I can't speak for either.
Jimmy
Behringer altho they are trying to rebrand themselves, unfortunately they will always be Behringer.
Guest Symatic
that livid stuff looks dope, i was looking at one of their things a while back

Dubba Dutchdj
As matt suggested, livid is probably the best alternative to apc. A mate has one of there controllers and he couldn't speak higher of the build quality. Just bear in mind that you'll probably get shafted by import tax. x2k
Well ableton will soon be releasing Push which is their new super ableton 9 controller....not cheap but looks awesome.
assemblyworker
Yeah had a look at Push but it's basically Maschine, with all the bits I don't like about the APC (loads of clip launch buttons) and no faders and not many pots. I'm quite interested in it but know it's not what I'm looking for.
Jimmy
get some livid bits matt! thats my selfish opinion so i can have a play, but they totes look boss and that
assemblyworker
Maybe I could just wire you up with MIDI triggers and play the Cambian live? (pause)
assemblyworker
Looks like I'm being forced my hand here. Just lost my live rig of APC40, Boss Space Echo and Komplete Audio 6 soundcard. Got left outside a rehearsal room and now it's gone.

assemblyworker
Think I'm going to go with the Livid CTRL R. Gonna be a while before I can replace the space echo and soundcard though.
d00ban
Shit man, how'd it get "left outside"?
Guest It'sPhilFromThursdays
What the fuck. That's shitty, geez. Condolences for getting your stuff jacked. Was it Thanet chief's or was it elsewhere?
assemblyworker
Shit man, how'd it get "left outside"? Honest answer? I had smoked way too much. I'm guessing that I put my flightcase down when I said goodbye to people, then wandered off without it. It's the only thing I can think of, I really don't think anyone in that studio would have robbed it but I guess you never know. Either way, it's down to my own stupidity. I just bought the Livid CTRL R.... Usually buying new kit gets me exited but right now I just feel cold.... And am about to spend a month eating nothing but beans on toast. Still, got it for £425 which seems reasonable. I always hated the APC anyway. Will post some feedback when it arrives.
Jimmy
the Livid thing does look good tho man, i think you made the right choice.do you think you'll be able to do finger drumming on the livid? also remember, beans on toast is actually quite nice. assemblyworker
I hope so, spend quite some time looking at various bits and it seems the best bet. Has the amount of pots I need and the faders are meant to be of a decent quality, can't be any worse than the shitty Akai faders! If I could drum on there then that really would be something but I very much doubt the pads are velocity sensitive, it certainly doesn't say they are anywhere. If it did then WWWWWOOOOOOOWWWWWW then I could just use a single controller and do everything, that would be extremely cool indeed.
Dubba Dutchdj
Sorry for your loss's Matt, time will heel that gut wrenching feeling. I've got a board and lonely NI soundcard if you need to borrow one for a bit.
