Wicked night overall There was a alot of people there for a sunday night so the vibe in Wardrobe was good. Sinical, Matman and Mike-L all warmed up nicely and Qbert showed everyone why he's still the best in the world The night dropped in energy for a bit as he was doing his breaks set as people on the floor weren't really dancing and everyone was still just staring at him but it got good again when those dirty electro beats came on lol @Gizmo - i'm assuming you were the guy at the front of the stage with the digi-cam recording everything? pz

If his latest single "3 freaks" is anything to go by i think he's taking a new turn in direction for this new album But it's all good imo If Shadow wants to stay new and exciting he's got to move with the times and try something different

Wicked DJ, he definitely knows how to get the party rocking Expect a bit of everything!

I'm not sure if i fully understand what your saying but the software and hardware mixers are going to serve different purposes The software mixer is going to control the master level and the input levels coming into the soundcard But it depends on what your recording to determine if you really need a hardware mixer or not. The 1010's got 8 1/4" I/O, 1 Midi I/O and 1 SPDIF I/O So if your just recording your turntables you shouldn't really need a seperate mixer but if you want to hook some mics up or prefer a hands on feel you should get a hardware mixer Hope this helps pz

What's wrong with him playing universities? Like 99% of other DJ's he'll play anywhere that will pay him his fee

You wouldn't call them weak if you saw their show this past Friday in Leeds Yeah it's the 2 rappers, keyboard player + Skratch DJ + Drummer Good show

Premo was sick last year in Leeds

In most audio editors you have the option of recording what is coming out of the speakers, so just play the part of the dvd you want and hit record

Depends what your budget is mate The classic synth for big bad bass is the Access Virus, but it is quite expensive The MicroKorg or MS2000 might be worth investigating In terms of VST's i'd look at Albino, Z3ta+, Moog Modular. Personally i've never come across one soft-synth that has been able to make tearing bass sounds right out of the box but once you sample the synth and give it some distortion and effects then any of those synths are worth looking into

Not sure of any websites in particular, but you could look at recording audio either from the TV (news, documentaries ets..) or ripping the audio from vids on your computer Failing that check Ebay as i'm sure there are a fair amount of spoken word records there

Dude makes some fair points imo Turntablism will never die it will only evolve into something new, but i reckon i agree with most of his points

Hot97 not surprising really!

My rate!? lol Usually just a free beer, or just for a few quid. A couple of my friends used to run a small night in Leeds and they'd split the money made on the bar between themselves and everyone that dj'd on the night But i agree that sometimes hard to justify buying loads of records every week and keeping up with the trends in music when very little money is coming in

I went to this night, was the best night out i've had this year I didn't buy tickets in advance and the queue for tickets on the door was a complete joke!! Suffice to say after an hour of queing we weren't even near the desk, but we managed to buy some tickets 2 hours later once more people came All the DJ's were on top form, bar Lemon D ;-) Big up
