  1. thanks heaps guys. Jon, i've already done a few tracks thanks to your instructions.
  2. Cambian, i get well into glitch hop and dubstep and i'm pretty sure when i do listen to drum and bass it's on the heavier side of the spectrum. I don't really know enough about the drum and bass scene to be too informed about what's the heavy stuff. Noisia and shock one are really the extent of my drum and bass knowledge currently
  3. marathons are painful enough with that.
  4. yep, dopp, that's the plan, legs move at 180bpm for the whole time. Stride may shorten towards the end but the goal is to keep the legs churning at the same pace.
  5. Tried doing it with drum and bass but just found that 90bpm hip-hop is a little more agreeable for 4 hours. It feels better somehow to have the beat hit on my left leg every time too. Marathoners are weird in general. Maybe I could switch to drum and bass for the last 10, painful kms. Cambian, you got about an hours worth? I've got ableton on here somewhere Jon but never played with whole songs in it before. Could you chuck in a couple more instructions on what i need to do to make this happen?
  6. Hi guys. Been ages since i posted anything on here but i still lurk and keep an eye on what's what. I don't really DJ anymore but i was wondering if somebody here could help me out. In about a month i'm going to be running my first marathon. 42.2km's of torture. It should take me about 3 hours 45 minutes to get it done. Anyway, i've found that my running cadence is about 180 steps per minute if i'm running well. Is anyone willing to help me out with a whole bunch of tracks that are running at exactly 90BPM so i can run in time with them? I don't know if there's a quick way to set a whole bunch of tracks to that speed with ableton or whatever. Thanks heaps if you can help. peace
  7. Just stumbled on this site and i've been in nostalgia overload for the last couple of days. http://www.abandoneer.com/ Prince of Persia, Civilization, leisure suit larry. Let me know which games here tickle your late 80's fancy.
  8. it's all about the electric cars innit. This means that realistically you could drive your electric car up to the servo, plug it in for a minute, and piss off for another 300 kilometres. Just like petrol cars, only more tree huggy.
  9. just switch over to jj. download the akai manual, and just keep in mind that certain things might not be where they say they are. Apart from that, it's all in there somewhere. Have fun!
  10. um...have the world finals already been? According to the DMC website, i'm reading that some dude from france won it. This tells me that yes, DMC has taken place. If this is the case then where is the 1. Battling is shit thread 2. The UK DJ was robbed thread 3. Video thread The lack of these threads tell me that DMC hasn't happened yet. I'm confused.
  11. bump a little bit, really interested in anything you guys can offer on this one.
  12. Hey guys, just a live one take, lets see what happens thing from me and a mate. I'm playing drums and Bass on the mpc, and he's getting freaky on his synth. All comments and feedback most appreciated, as we've got a bunch of live tracks like this one ready to send out and try to start getting gigs, just wanna betterise them a bit before we do. Project eject - out of control
  13. i got the 24 and it's wicked. but the 32 does look pretty sweet. I guess it all depends on what you think you're going to be doing with it. I mean, sliders and knobs don't help me much because i use mine for drumming, but if you're ableton set has loads and loads of different effects, you might need all those extra sliders. I would love to have note repeat on the 24 though....
  14. it'll be fine, posties drop shit that far all the time in transit, and the 909 is a pretty tough mixer. I used to be a baggage handler at the airport and we are total arseholes. don't put ANYTHING breakable in your checked luggage people.
