OKJoy
Hey DV, Had a convo with a friend of mine who has been telling me to get an 8 channel soundcard/interface for a while now. He recommended the Focusrite series. Looking to be able to track out kick, snare, hi hat, sample, separately, hopefully recording audio with track mutes on the 1k. Just looking for any recommends, for something budget that works. Any help is much appreciated! Edited June 8, 2020 by OKJoy
TBearOne8III
i use the Zoom R24. its a mixer/multi track recorder/audio interface/daw controller. you can record 8 tracks at the same time. record either to sd card or thru usb/daw. the traks are seperated even on the sd card. plus you can midi map the whole mixer to your daw. they have an updated version as well. the livetrak series. https://www.zoom-na.com/products/production-recording/multi-track-recorders/zoom-r24-recorder-interface-controller-sampler
Deft
Our own forum meme for a while, was "get an RME".This is pretty good advice. It's the best audio interface I ever had, but I'm definitely not up to date with what things are like nowadays.
mfsop
I've got this older interface and I'm satisfied: https://www.gearank.com/gear/m-audio-m-track-eight-8The website lists some alternatives but I don't know them. Except for the UMC404 which stopped working after exactly two years, so I can't recommend that one personally.
broma
I'm with your friend on Focusrite. I've got the 4 channel version of this, had it for a while, and been very happy with it: https://focusrite.com/en/usb-c-audio-interface/clarett-usb/clarett-8pre-usb Think you can get cheaper though! That Zoom R24 looks fucking cool too!
