R Funksmith Posted May 13, 2013 Author Share Posted May 13, 2013 I'm not the guy in the photos. I have much, much more hair than that. I was outta town actually, couldn't even accept my award. The wife did. That's her in the photo with Saddam Hussein on the screen behind her. If I'd known I had a chance to win I probably would not have chosen a photo of Saddam Hussein behind turntables as my photo. You had to submit a short mix, and then it was this pretty ridiculous voting process where people could vote once a day for a month. But in order to vote you had to sign up with an email address and all that. So I actually didn't ask anyone to vote. I'm pretty surprised I won, I was up against a couple other guys who have waaay bigger names than me, plus I'm a vinyl-only dinosaur. Incidentally, I'm in a reggae/funk band that won Best Album.
