doppelkorn
Hi friends similar to rchecka, I'm scopingout the possibility of doing a mix of minimalist rap tunes which just have drums (sampled or live or drum machine or anything) and vocals. I've got an ambarresment or riches for the years 83-about 88 but after that the trail goes cold and I only have a couple. Can you think of any? Wax On
ambarresmentFor someone who thinks they're super clever, your spelling is an ambarrasment. I'll have more of a think, but it'll be tough - there's probably quite a bit of sparse stuff, but still with the odd hit or a b-line
Jimmy
Saul Williams - Twice The First Time
Jon
Yungun & Mr Thing- Sound of the Drum. It does have a few subtle melodies but is largely just vocals and drums

d00ban
Not sure I'd wanna listen to a whole mix of sparse tunes. The only one I can think of is the bridge is over, but you've prob already got that.
doppelkorn
Yeah that's a relevant point d00b and one I'm thinking about. Not sure what I'm gonna do though.
djfoly
Audio Two - Top Billin' is probably the best ever example of what you're talking about!
doppelkorn
Yeah Joe, got it on my list as a cert I never used it like it but it's grown on me massively, along with this one:
Wax On
PSK - but again it's one you've presumably already got.
doppelkorn
Yeah ta, and Gucci Time Dirk - Wax reckoned you'd know some dutty south tracks that would be pretty bare with just a drum machine maybe?

Chris
I imagine you have Paul Revere on your list already too.
doppelkorn
Those three are hot lads. @Chris: I'm gonna have to pick from a big selection off Licensed to Ill so not sure if I'll take Paul Revere yet. Another good minimal Beasties Tune (not on L2I) is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lpvUevGAQ6k

Wax On
not totally music-less, but pretty close:
doppelkorn
Man that Clipse song brings back memories! Good shouts guys.
doppelkorn
And how could I/we forget this. I HATED this tune back when it came out but it's a bit of a grower. Maybe I'll like Wacka Flocka Flame in 10 years.
