I haven't been to London looking for records for years...not good... Last time I went there was the Soul and Dance Exchange just down the road from the Notting Hill underground which do second hand records, which was a great place. I found stuff like the Allies' EP there!

I think it might be just a normal noise with these tables. I've got the Citronic PD-45s which are a version of the ST150s, and they've always had that noise from new when pushing down on the platter. I've had mine for nearly 9 years now and fingers crossed they've been faultless.

I'll stick up for new school Q Bert, I'd say that he's done stuff which is technically awesome but has that funk as well. This is one, done 2008: Also I saw him at the DMC worlds last year and his drumming routine at the end where he kept getting faster and faster was ace! Both Q and D are just amazing cutters, I've posted up my fave D clip somewhere else but here it is again: Just lovely funk and flow. What has happened to D Styles btw? You can modify the cut in on the Rane, you need to bend the magnetic sensors at the end of the fader rails. Go to the Skractworx website and look for the TTM56 in the Reviews section. IIRC there's a step by step guide there to do the mod. I'd love to get an innofader for my 05sl - are they available in the UK yet?
