Guest Deeswift
Pretty cool. I'd like a black one to match my theme. http://www.digitalvertigo.co.uk/dv/dvkb/XPBLACK1.jpg http://www.digitalvertigo.co.uk/dv/dvkb/XPBLACK2.jpg http://www.digitalvertigo.co.uk/dv/dvkb/XPBLACK3.jpg http://www.digitalvertigo.co.uk/dv/dvkb/XPBLACK4.jpg

Guest Deeswift
A friend at forums.AMD.com made the theme. Black XP: http://www.ninjastyle.plus.com/downloads/blackxp.zip Unzip to C:\Windows\Resources\Themes. Double-click the fileClick 'Apply'. Monkey -- The ghost type icon? You mean The alien head on my taskbar? That's foobar2000 (audio player). Find it here: http://www.foobar2000.org/ Download page: http://www.foobar2000.org/download.html I'd suggest using v0.83 Special, and installing all features. Great player, and also has a great disk writer. Can read LAME headers, so if you have mp3's encoded with LAME it will make gapless CD's. Foobar2000 can play A LOT of audio formats. It's the shit. Steve
It doesn't work Dee. It's not supposed to either because MS set XP to use only certified .msstyles files that have a digital signature. You can't use custom ones unless you install something like Window Blinds or StyleXP. Do you have a program like that installed? Perhaps that's why you can double click it. Steve
Oh yeah - you can also install a cracked version of the uxtheme.dll file that checks for the digital signature. I've just been looking for one on Google but I can't find it.
Guest Deeswift
Nope, no apps installed. I've been through all this already with bvchurch. It works perfectly for me doing exactly what I did, but not others. Weird. I'll look into it and get back to you. Sorry it doesn't work, I'll try to fix it up. Steve
If you ever had one of those programs installed then it would have overwritten the uxtheme.dll file. Here's a download which contains a cracked uxtheme.dll file, but it only mentions XP either with or without SP1. It says nothing about SP2. I'm just gonna try it now so I'll let you know if it works. http://www.softpedia.com/get/Desktop-Enhan...-included.shtml
Guest Deeswift
OK, here's the black xp theme zipped up, exactly as it was passed on to me from the maker: http://www.digitalvertigo.co.uk/dv/dvkb/blackxp.zip If that doesn't work, I don't know what will. Steve
I just tried the cracked uxtheme.dll - it doesn't work with SP2. Oh well.
Guest Deeswift
I've mailed Frank, the guy who made it. I'll tell you what he says when he gets back to me. I don't understand at all why it works perectly on mine (XP Pro SP2) but no one elses. Maybe you're just not meant to have such a dope Ninja theme like this. God doesn't think you're worthy. Steve
Here is the answer: - http://www.neowin.net/comments.php?categor...ftware&id=23207 Uxtheme Multipatcher. Piece of piss to use and cracks the dll so you can use any msstyles files. **EDIT** That works, but when I click Apply to change to BlackXP, all that happens is my desktop background turns grey. Everything else is exactly is it was - silver.
