  1. Thanks Dirk. I originally tried this and couldn't stomach what was happening. I immediately hit the forums afterwards. Fortunately I still have a Yamaha 8 channel that is going to allow me to do what I want to do. I'm pretty excited now and glad I didn't impulse buy something that wasn't going to work and would be a pain to resell!
  2. I'm back on the cut again after quite a long hiatus. I am actually set up in my garage now. I am noticing when my fader is all the way off/cut, and I have barely touched the fader, pretty much an inch away from the fader cap, I hear audio interference, or static. Could this be bc my garage isnt properly grounded? Is my innofader dirty? Is this a mixer issue? I tried putting some electrical tape about the fader cap but that didnt help much. Should I post a video of the issue?
  3. Thanks for the SWIFT reply. Would it work to split the input into my amplifier? I.e., Turntable > EFX > AMP as well as Phone > AMP (but split?)
  4. I just bought a Pioneer EFX-500 for 100. I only have a Vestax PDX and a Pro 06. Trying to add some effects layers to my rare intermittent cut sessions. Is it possible to get post fader fx with my setup? Currently have my turntable going into Channel 2 and my phone (beats) is going into channel 1. I would like to just have effects on Channel 2. Crazy how much you forget when you leave the scene/decks for bit.
  5. What about this discord..? i think this could potentially open some doors for new ideas.
  6. i’d chip in. it would still be nice to have a discord and try to build on it if we can. i know vekked has a discord channel that’s poppin.
  7. I discovered plex this past year. Has changed my life in terms of how I view my digital library (movies, videos, etc.) Anyone else use Plex as their media server? I'm also trying to troubleshoot how to set up my server so I can use it remotely...
  8. i see. ive also enjoyed the many creative ways people have figured out what they can use the phase with.
  9. i tried to go with a 2017 Dell, it could NOT handle Serato at all.. I returned it immediately and ended up with a 2013 Macbook Pro, same price (< 600) and works flawlessly.
  10. Ok, cool *jots down* 1. no issues with sub bass.. 2. no bouncing needles... WHAT ELSE?
  11. Can someone ELI5 why I should be interested in the PHASE products aside from the cool/wow factor? If I have working tonearm and needles, why would I need/want PHASE? If I have the new RANE turntable(s), why would I need/want PHASE? Help me out here, I feel like I am missing something.
  12. It is a PT01 USB. Does anyone offer a service for the portables to ehh, correct some mods?
  13. I cba to find the original numark mod thread. Pardon the redundancy.. Im trying to understand why when I have my PT01 going straight into my Rane 62, I am constantly getting this intermittent rumbling static sound when im scratching. Usually at the beginning and end of a movement almost as if its the needle bouncing/shifting grooves. BUT When I go through my Raider fader first, and then into my Rane 62, I dont hear much static at all and the sound is pretty crisp. Ive seen a handful of videos with setups including a portable into a big boy mixer and it sounds decent. Im wondering if something ive modded has affected the output. Current mods: - Ultrapitch - Start/Stop - Bihari tonearm - Shure cartridge - Thanks for any insight.
  14. Exciting to hear the franchise is still going. My reaction to this is the same with the new Toejam & Earl.. "Hey that's cool, but the graphics look similar to a flash game."
  15. follow up, does anyone know of anyone doing mods? I would actually like to send my portable off for maintenance and I want an internal fader installed.
  16. any reason why i get audio pops while scratching? as well as when i just play a record? thought it was just when the needle bounced.. but when i just played a track the other day, i noticed it would pop/click intermittently.
  17. Definitely a cool utility for the turntable. I'm still learning best placement for hands to quickly access it with my thumbs. I feel you need to press pretty hard to get the full effect. Using the strip on the portable is easier, but makes mah needle bounce. I dig em. I like where this is going!
  18. Just for clarification, we are referring to the metal spindle that you attach the belt to, correct?
  19. Thanks for the input everyone. Will get a video posted up ASAIC...
  20. I just installed one in a PT01 USB I'm working on. I haven't scratched with it yet but it looks and feels like it's worth the price. I have done the platter stabiliser rings and washers in my PT01 Scratch and I didn't really think much of it and it was a bit annoying to install. The solid cutz platter I have has the patterned holes in which makes installing the belt back on the easiest thing ever. The whole thing took seconds and no need for any other rings etc. If you are thinking about upgrading the platter I think it is worth the extra cost for something that is not just a crappy plastic thing that just takes ages to get right... Just got my new platter! Its so buttery! You can get one of those rubber charity wristbands and put it around the ring on the underside of the platter. That helps a little but it's not going to blow you away or anything. It does help though. The other thing is adjusting your style to push the record a little more to compensate for the lack of torque when you release the record. So, there's still room for improvement with the pitch mods as far as I'm concerned. Rasteri has some suggestions for fixing it in this thread but I haven't had the time or guts to go there yet. Im currently using a wristband for the extra torque. Its helped a bit like you said. I appreciate the tip to adjust my style for the portable. Good advice!
  21. Is there a solution to have more torque when playing at a low RPM? i feel i can only get good scratching with the RPM on high. Tough to play on lower bpm beats.
