Dj_Rasko
Im thinking of buying this mixer . I thrashed it today at HTFR and I liked it. Just wondering if anyones had any problems with them or whether they would recomend something else ( around tht price range) Edited December 8, 2004 by Dj_Rasko
Mixologist
about how much do they cost? i rememebr someone posting stuff up about that mixer, but i forgot what it was about. But if anything i'd just be wary of the build quality as Numark items besides the CDX and SOME ttx1's tend to be pretty gay...
Dj_Rasko
They cost £239 but u can get em for like £199. I applaud the guy hu talked to me abt it cus he basically sold it to me lol. Numark are bringing out a new mixer DXM?? neways it looks like sum darth vader ish and its the same as the ppdo1 but its got no sound effects and wot not ( for sum reason it costs more). I havent actually heard any bad things about the nu digital numark stuff, maybe sum 1 can correct me ? Ne ways the guy at the store was saying that the mixer has bin highly underestimated and tht it is a solid mixer.....
Banano
We had in a shop i worked in and the fader broke inside 2 weeks.... :71_71: anything with auto-crab is kinda wack imo , even if you never use it.
Dj_Rasko
i get 1 years guarantee. plus i dnt need tht auto ish . I also mix as well so i reckon it wud make my mixes more effective etc....
Steve
ProfessorBX said they were rubbish. Not that he's the almighty oracle or anything but he has a lot of experience with mixers and his advice is usually bang on. I'd get an 06 instead for that money and stick a P&G in it. Steve
An Ecler maybe? The 360 has a sharp cut in point and it has 3 band EQs.
Dj_Rasko
ive got a £240 limit...
Steve
That's a tight budget mate. You could buy DissCuss's second hand XS-8 for £140! Other than that, I can't think of anything.

Steve
All the reviews and comments I've seen have been very positive. It has Ecler Pro faders (the same is in my Hak 310 and in the channel faders of the 360) and you can adjust the curve on them all. 3 band EQs and pan for each channel. In fact, check out Max's review here: - http://digitalvertigo.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=

Dj_Rasko
I jus need info on the faders tho. Im not to sure like how much do replacements cost and how long do they last ?
Steve
The faders are £34.99 at SkratchUK - all 3 faders are the same and are interchangeable. I've had my mixer about 2 years now and I'm still using the original faders. I've cleaned and lubed them maybe 3 or 4 times and they've never bled or crackled. Obviously I dunno if that's typical, but I've got no complaints.
Dj_Rasko
Cheers mate thanks for all the info. Im jus disscussing (hahahah no pun intended lol) the terms with Disscuss. Edited December 9, 2004 by Dj_Rasko
Max
yeah I promise you won't be dissappointed. Teac/Tascam has quite a good track record for mixing boards, and anyone who has owned an Ecler mixer, like Steve for example, will attest to the versatility and long life of the Profaders. Steve
Does anyone know where I can get some fader knobs for Pro Faders? Two of mine have cracked and they're a little wobbly.
Dub-Se7en
Stanton SA-5. awesome, awesome mixer, good for blends too cos of the powerful eq, all png faders. session in, complete kill gains...
Max
I'd throw my Tascam fader caps onto a Stanton. I think the knobs are too bulky. And to Steve...i dunno try talking to your local electronics/dj store. They can prob help you out about the replacement knobs.
Dj_Rasko
I still havent got a clue wot to get..... Edited December 9, 2004 by Dj_Rasko
Steve
You didn't buy the Tascam then?
Mixologist
Tascam would definately be your best bet. Not unless you can find an sa-8 or sa-5 around. They're like around 300 u.s. now...
Max
I think the XS-8 is a better choice over the XS-8 if you don't mind the profaders. I hate that the SA-8 has no locks on the transform switches. The connectivity options on the tascam are also a lot better.
Max
Buy the xs-8 if you can get a good price on it.
