IDK if Serato would run on whatever flavor of Windows they're loading on Windows tablets these days, but maybe? Otherwise, in theory: cheap rooted android tablet running Windows, USB dongle with connection as midi device. Sounds pretty hacky and like a real pain in the ass to setup but I bet it could be done if you have enough time and patience.

PCB's and the plastic bit on the rails are independently available but not a whole assembled unit.

I have a second-hand Rane 62 that I bought for a song ($450 or so including flight case). The faders have seen a lot of use and aren't that great even with a good cleaning. Rane no longer manufactures the faders, so if I want a replacement I'll have to drop $175 on an Innofader Pro 2. Meanwhile, I've found that the 62 doesn't place nice with Windows 10. Mine has this well known and horrible problem where all of a sudden both channels just throw out max volume static and the mixer has to be rebooted. It happens rarely but it's scary AF when it does and bad for your ears. After years of dragging their feet, Rane released a firmware update for the 62 not long ago, and the problem disappeared-- but only until a subsequent Windows update made it come back. I otherwise like the mixer a lot, but I don't know if I wanna put another $175 into it given the firmware problems and lack of continued support by Rane. OTOH I don't really want to spend a ton of money on a new mixer. What would you do?

After a 10+ year hiatus I've finally started cutting again. Anyway, was listening to some old DeeSwift, who was fond of uzi flares, and thought I'd give it a try. Here's a single click uzi swing flare to double click at the end. I've lost too much muscle memory for flares to hold the double-clicks. I'm experiencing a weird issue with this second hand 62 I picked up and am not sure if it's caused by A) Me, B) Serato DJ, or C) The 62. Sometimes a kind of effect appears out of nowhere. IDK what it is but the best way I can describe it is "watery." Of course I have the effects turned off. Whenever this happens another weird thing also happens at the same time (not sure if they always happen together or just sometimes), which is that the platter indicator only tracks forward (regardless of whether I move the record forwards or backwards, it moves forwards in time). Sometimes I can trigger it by picking up the needle and dropping it elsewhere on the record (yes, I'm in abs mode). Other times that doesn't make it happen. I'm lost. Frankly I have no idea how to troubleshoot this, but here's what I've tried: A) Factory reset the FX unit in the 62 per some official Rane youtube video instructions. B) Using different control vinyl. C) Reloading the track (eject, drag and drop again). Weird shit continues after I reload. D) Restart the mixer E) Update the firmware F) Restart Serato DJ G) Use USB i/o B instead of A H) Different USB cable HALP

I did get a real bargain on the tables. Was a pair of Str8-150's in immaculate condition.

I just wanna know why analog synths are so expensive. Is it limited supply compared to demand? New ones not being produced? Old ones were super expensive when they came out? I keep an eye out on my local Craigslist and stuff but the cost barrier to entry is too high. I just bought 2 tables, a mixer, flight cases, extra cartridges, control vinyl, and an audio interface-- and for what I spent on all of it put together I could buy like half of a moog. WTF is up with that.

Just bought a Rane 62 with a flight case for $475 shipped.

The pair of tables I just bought came with a barely used pair of Stanton 680 V3's on head shells and separately a NIB (mini flight case looking thing) pair of Stanton Skratchmaster V3's on head shells. I never really used Stanton carts back when. Should I keep both pairs? Open up the Skratchmasters and use them? Sell/Trade the Skratchmasters towards some 44-7's?

The plot thickens... Where I am now I've just got my tables and a Behringer UMC404HD. I intended to buy an older mixer on the cheap and try it out with Traktor 3 via the Behringer. But then I found this shop right nearby my office that's AMAZING and has tons of stuff and will haggle. Definitely kid in a candy shop kinda place. Among other things they'll sell me a last gen Rane 57 (not the new-ish colored button one) for $400 and I guess I could use SSL but I'd have to bypass the Behringer interface I just bought. So now options are: 1. Buy the 57, return the Behringer. 2. Buy the 57, keep the Behringer (Try it with Traktor 3?) 3. Try to find a cheaper 57 of any gen elsewhere, shooting for $300 or less. 4. Buy a 56 from this shop for $250 5. Buy a Urei 1601S from this shop for $250 (they have multiples so lemme know if anyone wants one)! I hate the fader though. I guess I could replace it with an Innofader PNP.
