Thing is, most great hip hop production that I can think of relies on sampling (e.g. Pete Rock, Premier, J-Zone etc). Hip-hop needs recycling! If he's talking about lyrics that's a different story though - it's pretty unoriginal to steal lines off older tunes with no attempt to make them any different or more interesting, or to pass them off as your own. foodstamps
He's not talking about sampling mate. He's talking styles and trends and shit like that eg. scratch nerds that are like 'wow craze is sick, how original was that!' then go biting drum and bass juggles or going 'sick sick dstlyes cuts' then going and biting exactly the same style of cuts. Bubba
I dunno, but i just love this rhyme by juelz santana (was the only one I could think of right now): I sold bad yay on a good day, til shit got fucked up and I had good yay on a bad day.... Not like I'm into to coke, but I thought that was a pretty dope way of formulating "I'm a junky".

Orion Scorpio
Should of added an "All of" in front of that song title. There's no lyric in it that "makes me think" per se (being that it's a good 10 minutes of rapping in it), but it took story telling in a hip-hop track to another direction, which was pretty dope. Shame the cunts never released anything after their EP though.
