  1. I bet advanced features will include some shit software as well. Sony could be the next big thing after Apple if only they'd just use drag/drop file transfer or even playsforsure.
  2. Saw the tour in Ghent (Belgium), and it was amazing. Rasco (as half of Cali Agents) didn't impress too much, J-Rocc and PB Wolf were sick, Percee P killed, and Madlib was sorta strange but still cool. Overall message: if you're going, go for Percee or you may be a little dissapointed in Madlib (i wasn't but clearly some people hated it).
  3. Anything that unseats the iPod is good. The iPod is a very poor product considering recent technological developments. If you know anything about data storage, you know it's all about perpedicular HAMR. Toshiba are the one to watch. Do you mean the Toshiba that is taking care of half the hardware in an iPod?
  4. If you keep in mind that there's a christmas every other year then yeah, you're probably right.
  5. Thats KRS not EL-P. 'Look ma no shoe laces' is another dope one! El-P says it too on stepfather factory (i think?) so i guess they both say it... although krs probably did say it first... Company Flow - Vital Nerve
  6. Got the Rane 57 two months ago, and it's a real BEAST. Very highly recommended, even more rugged than the 56, plus ofcourse (basic) internal effects and SSL integration. On the negative note SSL doesn't seem to be perfectly stable. Still heaps better than FS, but not as good as the older versions.
  7. He was talking about a freeview dvd recorder, not a PVR as far as i understood. Yes: you can edit from the recorder itself, it's time consuming and little accurate, but doable nonetheless. But yeah, even without a hdd you can edit (using DVD+RW's or RAM's only). Sony, Panasonic and Pioneer are quite user friendly. The easiest has got to be Philips, but their recorders are absolute crap.
  8. h**p://rapidshare.de/files/28575077/01_-_Side_1.mp3.html Here's a little treat.
  9. I'm willing to bet someone said the same about GUI's, mice, harddisks or whatever at some point.
  10. I'm using an external scsi drive for backup, for regular use i've built in a compact flash reader. I can recommend this to anyone, loading is as fast as from a hdd (32 mb programs in under a minute, i hear some pc users chuckle at this one), practically failsafe, and cheap storage. As for internal harddrives: good luck clicky I've installed this reader, from a german webshop. Really a very simple installation. vv-comp
  11. I've used Runtime's GetDataBack for ages for that same purpose. Would be cool to have it as a standard, but i didn't quite catch if the system makes backup copies of the file itself or just the TOC location (so that it could still get overwritten)
  12. Not a pic of mine, but it's the same basically. Citroën Xantia Break '98, 1.9 TDi. Best suspension i've ever seen on a ride. Great for camping, sex, and transport.

    Laptop for Serato

I'm using a mac (ibook g4, basic model), never had any probs with it.
  14. I don't think those you can buy just the fader on a rane (56 or 57). Ask around on the SSL forums, but i'm afraid you have to send it in to have a new spring fitted at rane's, or do it yourself.
  15. MPC2000XL Ensoniq EPS (with ram upgrade so it packs a stunning 4mb) Clavia Nord 2 rack Serato (TTM57sl) and Pro Tools LE to record.
  16. ^ Not to mention no skipping in relative mode.
  17. Well you can still connect it as a SL1 it seems. Don't ask how, but it should be possible somehow.
  18. Save up a little and wait for the ttm57. I just got mine yesterday and i'm still recovering...
  19. There's a setting somewhere in iTunes that lets you select if you want to copy the files in the library to your hd or just keep the actual files on their respective volume. Does that help in any way?
  20. El da Sensei - Summer Time Bluez Pharcyde - Runnin' Perceptionists - 5 o' clock Donald Byrd - Wind Parade and obvousliy Kool & The Gang - Summer Madness (long version!) Haven't i posted this last summer?
  21. Stezo - Freak the funk (as far as i can remember)
  22. Pro Tools LE MBox 2. I don't want to get into pro tools is shite/not shite arguments, but this works perfectly for me and so does it for engineers who use pro tools (about 95% of them).
