if it's funky, the crowd usually likes it. That's the experience I've made. If it sounds old school/primitive like old MC Shan, Audio Two etc. they'll turn away. Got no club records, so they gotta live with me playing funk and funky old school rap.
  2. Floyd Rose is tricky to tune but it's dead easy to change strings with it and when it's properly set up your guitar will hardly go out of tune anymore. My BC Rich with the Floyd Rose hasn't changed tune for about three months now (with regular packing/unpacking the guitar for rehearsals). You'll get used to the tuning with a Floyd Rose.
  3. didn't we have a thread like this before? Anyway, my ride: Ford Cougar (European model) 2.5L V6, 24V mods: 8.5x18" rims with 225/35/18 tires - stainless steel dual exhaust - K&N 57i Intake - tinted windows - black side markers - 40/30mm lowering springs & struts (pic has the old 30/30 mm springs) - body kit came with the car when I bought it two years ago. - better brakes! I would love to build in a turboed 3L or 3.5L engine and some headers but since everything here in Germany must be approved, there's no chance. Some dude from the UK just made a really dope 14 piece body kit for the Cougar. Would love of those as well. and Hertzworth, nice car! The Eclipse was also sold in Germany back then. There's one guy who drives one not too far from where I live. If I had the money, I'd go for the new Shelby Cobra GT500.

    RAM Help

if your mainboard has SD RAM, you won't be able to fit DDR RAM in there. Just google for the specs of your mainboard. That should tell you what type of RAM was used. My computer is five years old and also has SD RAM. It's an Asus board.
  5. I do have a USB 2.0 drive. It is just as good as a built in hard drive? Like can I access programs just as fast and all? I heard that USB drives are good for storing data but not really for running programs through em. edit: I've always thought DOS doesn't support USB

the Jam on revenge instrumental is almost always in my setlist. Jam on it too. Classick material.
  8. like I said back then, i bought a BC Rich Mockingbird (Platinum Pro Series) and it's your best bet for heavy sounds. Jackson Dinky is a good choice too. As for Ibanez, the better models (not the GRX ones) are pretty costly. If you can get your hands on a used Schecter or Vester, I'd consider those as well. Other names that come to mind are Kramer (Autopsy used those), Hamer, some Yamaha guitars.
  9. I can't format the old HDD coz the laptop is for work with all the software etc. Since I have no admin rights on there, I'll just buy another hard drive, so I can use it privately as well (which I am actually not allowed to, but nobody needs to know)
  10. yup. Postage is just for Germany. 25 Euros for the UK. I can check how much it will be for Ireland
  11. ah, good one. I think getting the HDD out shouldn't be too hard. I think it's just one panel with two screws or something, won't be too hard. I guess I'll go with a regular 40 GB HDD then. Thanks a lot
  12. thanks for the replies. So a 5,400 rpm HDD won't be enough? I do have 7,200 rpm drive in my PC and 5,400 wouldn't be that good in a PC but notebooks mostly came with 5,400 rpm drives until lately, I think?
  13. http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...em=190009655916 Postage to the UK is 25 Euros with insurance. Mixer is in fine condition, rarely used it as I have the Rane as my main mixer. There's some slight wear on the panel but nothing serious. Check the pics. Since having two mixers is like a luxury, I decided to let it go. Ask me for postage to other countries, I will gladly ship this thing worldwide. It has an US power supply built in but I'm including a voltage converter to 220V, so you can use it in Europe too.
  14. OK, I'll get a laptop from work in September, a HP NC6220. Thing is, I can't install software on it coz my account has no admin rights. I guess it's no problem if I simply shove in another harddrive and install Windows on it, right? What type of harddrive does the NC6220 have? I think it's an IDE one, no SATA, right? Would a harddrive with 5,400 rpm be sufficient or should I get a 7,200 rpm one? If that works, I'm gonna buy a USB soundcard (Maya 44 or something else) and set up a ghetto Final Scratch. Oh yeah, the notebook comes with 1 GB RAM installed. is that enough for a ghetto Final Scratch or should I consider some more RAM as well? The processor is a Pentium M750 with 1.84 or 1.86 GHz. Thanks in advance y'all
  15. this was shot in Holland with me playing bass coz our bass player was sick or some shit. I'm the guy on the right hiding my face from the crowd...
  16. that's me in Belgium in December 1997 when I had long hair (and less weight)...
  17. I like the iCut one
  18. I know that part is temp sensitive but soldering at 280° was a pain in the ass. I gave up after half an hour because the solder wouldn't melt enough. I could've used different solder but I didn't have any other available. it worked with 350° in my case and I put a good deal of thermal paste on the IC before screwing everything together again. but yes, you need to be careful, that's for sure. best thing is to wait a few minutes after each leg soldered. Good looking out on the advice with the razorblade.
  19. this happened to quite a lot of people, including me. It can be fixed without problem. Cisco El Nino posted the repair manual on the old Asis site and Reezy just posted this on D-Styles' board a while ago. TTX repair I did this mod and it worked like a charm. In addition, to make things easier, you will need pliers to get the IC out of the PCB because it sits in there pretty tightly. I tried soldering at 280°C but it took forever for the solder to melt, so I went up to about 350°C and it worked.
  20. I'll be on soulseek tomorrow again when my internet connection gets cracking again hopefully.
  21. Fat Joe has put out wack shit for quite some years now but I never imagined things were that bad...
  22. just picked this up the other day. Well done, mane. Best break record in a good while, imo.
  23. configure your soundcard, so it doesn't record "what you hear" but just the line input (line 1 or line 3 whatever). if you get a delay when you playback everything, it's prolly a latency problem or something with ASIO drivers. I'm not a pro in this unfortunately.
  24. why don't you do the ground wire mod? no need for the extra cable, done in a few minutes etc. There was a thread about it a few days ago.
