MPC2000XL for sure. Looking at the MPC3000 though. Software sequencers always fuck up on me so I went the hardware route.
-
Hey airnino. what kind of Event monitors are those?
-
Eggsactly Wow. You learn something new everyday.

Akai = Alesis = Numark I don't get it. They're all the same company or something?
-
Why would Numark care about the MPC?

Go to http://www.mpc-forums.com, all of your questions about the JJ OS have most likely been asked and answered.

Does anyone uses the Ortofon OM models (on Technics headshells) happen to screw theirs all the way in? Just to balance out the tonearm with the cart, I had to screw the tonearm weight almost all thre way in, and then to add 3 grams, I had to spin the weight until it went all the way in (and even at that, the headshell only said I put on 2 grams of weight). Anyone else get this problem on their Techs? Also, what should my overhang be? I just put the cart randomly in the middle of the headshell...

Now with Concorde pic! -
I don't think Vestax mixers are THAT bad. I owned an 05 Pro II for a bit. It wasn't terrible (although the stock crossfader really sucked, I used a PXF instead), although the upfaders were pretty stiff, they weren't the worst for cutting on. The EQ knobs could have been further apart and they could have had three band EQ, but since I only used it for scratching on, it wasn't the worst. Also, the 06 ain't terrible (it's not bad at all if all you're doing is scratching, and I like it because of its compact size), the 07 isn't bad at all (for anything), and the 08 is pretty sick. The 05 and 06 aren't too great though because the sound quality put out by those guys are pretty atrocious. Otherwise, I don't really have too many complaints about Vestax mixers. Ryan, I always see you bashing on Vestax mixers, but why?

Exactly. Is there really that much of a difference? -

haha. I love that record. And yes, I'd use an M44-7, but I don't have the money to buy another M44-7 right now. I have my M44-7s on my Techs at the moment. The DJ S skips more than I'd like (I have it at 3 grams of weight and 0 height, with no headshell weight), but it doesn't skip that much. Funny thing is, I scratched the same sample for half an hour to test it out, and I didn't notice a difference in the sound quality of the sample. At all. -
lol, funny thing is, that's where I fell in love with that beat. I was always wondering like, "DAMN! Where the hell did Mono find that beat in that Breakfast Cuts video!? It's sick! Then I found it on the Scratchylooper 5 by Monkey Tricks and I scratched on it for days. lol. So thanks Mono. For the compliment and for making me fall in love with that beat. haha.

I love my TTM 56. I like the TTM 56's faders. Those faders are so damn smooth to me. Actually, mine were stiff for a bit, but after lubing up the faders, damn. Like everyone says, I don't like the curveness of the upfaders. But otherwise, that's pretty much the only gripe I have. I have yet to try out the PMC-08, Scratchbox, and Ecler Haks, but I aim to.

haha. As an owner of the Vestax PMC-05ProII and the Rane TTM56, I would definitely go with the Rane any day. The Rane is better in every department except for the upfader curve, I can make the PMC's much sharper while the Rane's sharpest is still pretty damn linear. Otherwise, if you can think of something on a PMC you like, the Rane beats it.
