  1. Thanks. Unfortunately, it's on an indefinite hiatus because the computer and I are currently in different countries. The iMac I made it on is in the US while I'm in South Korea.
  2. Made this almost a year ago, was never able to finish it since I let my friend borrow my computer after I made it and he still has it. http://www.zshare.net/audio/701291503124e28f/
  3. If it's a desktop, PCI would probably be your best bet as it is, in my opinion, faster and more stable. If you're using a Windows laptop, I dunno, because most Windows laptops don't have TI Firewire chipsets, and thus, most will have a hard time reading your Firewire interface.
  4. You know nothing about modular synths, huh. The Buchla 200e sounds amazing to say the least. I'd buy one if a decent system wasn't worth about $20,000. It's very versatile as it's a polyphonic modular synth, rather than a monophonic like most modulars. Also, the fact that it's modular makes it very versatile in the first place. Check out a demo here: http://www.otownmedia.com/he/072707.htm
  5. Hey guys. I'm coming from FL Studio and VSTs, but since it sucks for audio integration, I want to maybe try out Cubase. FL Studio in my opinion had a really good section for VSTs with the really tight piano roll and ability to change your note lengths to whatever increments you wished and it had a good rack system for effects in my opinion. It was also really easy to change instruments for each MIDI track. Is Cubase similar to that? I tried Logic, but it's not my cup of tea. Thanks.
  6. I believe it's a HAK 310. It can't be a Scratchbox, it has too much of the distinctive Ecler HAK series look to it.
  7. I'd rather not tell you until I get them...they're a bit on the high end side...
  8. Thanks. haha. Technically, the synth is a Univox (The company that named itself that before it became Korg), but it's a dope little synth.
  9. New pictures: REALLY far off from where I want to be (I'm selling a couple synths), but this is what I have now... My Univox Mini-Korg K-2 (circa somewhere around 1974) My music making station (yes, I know the monitors are in weird places, I need to get stands) My turntables.
  10. Personally, I found analog keyboards to sound much better than virtual analogs such as the MicroKORG. However, if you must get a virtual analog keyboard, I would much rather get a Nord Lead. If you want a Korg, I'd probably get a Korg R3.
  11. Yeah, but it sounds really nice. For reverb, try the one in the Waves bundle as x2k said, or try Altiverb. There's a whole crapload of reverb plug-ins.
  12. fuck yeah maybe i should sell my roland trance bitch and buy something decent^^ Heh. The JP-8000 is a good keyboard. It's just...digital. I like analogs.
  13. Thanks, yeah, the Lambda has some nice 70s strings, as it was made in 1979 I believe. As for the Minikorg 700S, and the Univox K-2, they are different in a way. There are different models, some with no fine tuning slider, and some with (mine does), some with the black switches like on the 800DV (I have those) and some with white switches. This is the one I have: This is another model: And yet another model: You can see the top one says Mini-Korg 2, the middle one says Univox Mini-Korg K-2, and the bottom one says Synthesizer mini KORG-700S. You acn also see the bottom two don't have the fine tune slider on the left hand panel (they only have two sliders, mine has three). You acn also see that they have white switches, while mine are black. They basically have the same features, except one was released by Univox, and after Univox renamed itself to Korg, they released the K-2 Mini-Korg 2 under the name K-2 Mini-korg 700S. I've heard different models have sound different, although I personally think they sound the same...doesn't really bother me. I love my K-2. So Solemn, jealous much? It's okay. I'm broke as fuck now. And you still make better music than me.
  14. I took my synths back home, I will most likely have my iMac where the PC is right now when I take the iMac home from school... Univox K-2 Mini-Korg 2 on the left, Yamaha CS-5 on top of the Mini-Korg, Korg ES-50 Lambda underneath the computer monitor and studio monitors.
  15. This is only temporary, it's my setup at school, but I plan on taking them home the next time I go home. The interface behind my laptop is a MOTU 896, the top synth is a Yamaha CS-5, that's the Univox K-2 (or the Minikorg 700s) underneath the Yamaha MG10/4 mixer and the iMac. By the way, the speakers are to the left because that's where my turntables are. By the way, I sold the Korg MS-20 for a profit. Ahhhhhh...the joy of vintage analog synthesizers.
  16. Nice man. Monitor Ones are pretty dope. I know Pete Rock uses them, although I think he uses them for listening to what he's making on the MPC, not for mixdowns. Or was it for his decks? I don't remember.
  17. I personally hear the Adjustable Torque models (the ones I have) don't have nearly the amount of problems the earlier generations have (which I believe you have), because they listened to a lot of the complaints and fixed them in the newer models. I know a bunch of people with the newer TTXs and have had them for years with no problems at all.
  18. My TTXs are fine, I've never had a problem with them...knock on wood. But I've also heard Numark Tech Support in the UK is awful, and I hear it's much better in the US.
  19. I don't know if they have them in the UK, but look into the Tascam VLS-21s. Not the best sound quality, but they're fine for scratching and listening. I use them for that. But yeah, not the greatest for making beats, but if they're not used for mixdowns, I don't really see the problem.
  20. It's capacitance? Interesting. A friend of mine might be trying a prototype out because he said he would pop it in his Urei 1601S and Tascam XS-4. We will see how things turn out. Unfortunately for me, I have a Rane TTM 56 and it doesn't fit in there...
  21. If by linking different sections on the MPC (I am assuming you have an MPC2000XL judging from your avatar picture) you mean linking different sequences, try going to the option labeled "SONG," it's one of the blue buttons on the left side. You can tell it to play which sequences after or before other sequenes to make an entire song. If that's not it, sorry I'm no help.
