The whole mp3 thing really has'nt ever appealled to me just like cd's never did. My cd collection consists of about 10 cd's my mp3 collection is of mixes for my commute. I know people who have gig's of music that they probably could'nt listen to in there lifetime it just seems stupid to me. I want to get serato but only to take 8 bar breaks from my vinyl to mess around with and try to compose stuff, loop stuff up and all that. Its a human condition to hoard stuff and there is no difference in the digtal world. I really have enough stuff to save and protect on my computer without stressing about my music collection on there. So I've never looked for mp3's or owt and I'm glad I hav'nt. Vinyl just keeps it nice and simple for me anyway.

Did that but they said that orange need to arrange the engineer to look at the line which after 2 weeks they still hav'nt done. Done that as well but when you speak to a different person or even a different country randomly that does'nt really have much impact. I switched to free broadband about a year ago, that really should'nt matter as I've been a customer for 8 years now I think I'm entitled to it as they've been ripping people off with internet pricing for years, free broadband should'nt mean shite service. If they said before I switched the service would not be as good I would carry on paying. Anyway it ain't free as we pay wopping phonebills to orange for the priviledge of ''FREE'' broadband. The biggest problem is my missus runs her online business from home and she is getting so pissed off about it. Not being able to check stuff. Thanks for the replies, it just seems they have you over a barrel. I want to switch now but I'm sure we'll get the 30 day bollocks which is'nt acceptable in my opinion. The other thing is I get 8 meg from orange for free, the others don't seem to have an as good a package even for 20 quid a month. I really don't know how these big corporations can just shit on people, if I treat my clients like this I would never earn any money ever again.

Alreet My internet connection at home has been down for 2 weeks now. I'm with orange I signed up with freeserve 8 years ago and had no problems till now really. So I can connect but the connection is so slow it won't load pages. Told orange after checking it my end on 2 machines and they said there was a fault with '' The Line'', that was 2 weeks ago. After many phonecalls and them reading there book of excuses to me it still is'nt working. What am I supposed to do nobody can tell me when it will be sorted and I get a different response everytime I've kicked off and spoken to managers, supervisors and the man who cleans the toilets on a thursday afternoon, although he could'nt tell me owt and nor can anybody else there, they are all slack as F***K. What can I do, do I need to leave and go through the hassle of switching provider. Any recommendations? sorry for the long one.

mostly the same answers as discuss 1. What model Vestax mixer do you have? 06 2. How comfortable are the faders to use? PCV's Unmodded are gash. Modded they are decent but not amazing. I use Pro X Fader now. 3. Is the front panel clear enough to operate the faders? Yes 4. How do you rate the fader curve controls? Is the range of settings wide enough? Yes with the pro X fader. It's fine. 5. Are the rotary controls (EQs, etc.) comfortable to use? Should it be more spacious around them? A tiny bit more space may be nice but they are ok. 6. Should the range of EQ settings be wider? Yes. 2 Eqs and very weak EQs at that. 7. Do you replace any components more often than you think you need to? No. 8. Are the additions to this particular mixer (e.g. send and receive, Samurai digital faders) beneficial? Yes 9. Is it suitably priced? Yes, it was my first scratch mixer 20 months ago so a good starter mixer. 10. What could be improved? Sound Quality, Better EQ's, better build it RATTLES like mad. 11. Would you rather have bought a different mixer? (Yes/No) When I bought it, it was the cheapest decent scratch mixer I THOUGHT, I have a ttm56 now as well I would of gone for a sa5 in hindsight. cheers

I've cut on on my PDX for the last year since I bought it. I cut on my technics for the first time serious a couple of weeks ago and I was shocked at how shite I was cutting on the technics. I think you can get too used to the ultra pitch to really slow the record while cutting. I have since swapped things around and am cutting on my technics all the time and thankfully back up to speed again. I can mess about with the pitch stuff mentioned to get + 16, -16 on technics? Is that right, I would like that, it gives a bit more flexibility when cutting I think.

I have a spare graphics card lying around it has no fan on it and I can't be arsed to sort it out. If you want it mate PM me it's a geforce fx something or other we bought it at work for the fan so I did'nt pay for it. it's just gathering dust. just thought I'd offer.

Yeah when you push it like that it's noticable but can't see why you'd take it that far. You tried mixing with it steve, can you cue up with it turned on ok? It seems pretty useless if it affects mixing in any way. If it all works then it opens up loads in terms of track selection.

Wow, that sounds pretty good I'm not sure how it's doing it but seems to work. I can imagine that scratching with it on would'nt work. Serato is intelligent apparently and knows to turn it off when you pull back. Thanks for that steve I must admit I'm impressed it's a big feature I think for mixing. In fact it's a must really.

I cut a lot, I don't post files, when I'm half decent I might but until then I will keep practising. I practise every day. Although I am still pretty new to it all I must admit I am really into it.

Records Matt Records. You obviously keep them very clean I'd say all my 45's sound like shit. Apart from the couple of decent northern soul ones.

Anybody know of a decent webcam that can do 25fps. I have a labtec and the quality is shite and its does about 6fps. I have a dv camera but it's just quicker and easier to to record using a webcam. any advice.
