Max
Okay all of a sudden my needles are eating up my records like nobody's business. There's no headshell weight on them, and my tonearms are balanced. But my needles are literally shaving scraps of vinyl off of my records. My tables are straight-arms and I'm wondering if it might be due to the fact that i was using them on S-arms yesterday??? Please help

Max
Both needles are doing it, but both are old. Maybe it's time to go pick up a pair of those new ortofons.
Monkey-Hands
Which Color do they have? Cause the Pink ones (and the Blue ones too I think) are NEEDLE EATERS!
Max
No, No, the Ortofon GTs. They're black, they're headshell mount, and they're designed to compete with the 44-7's.
Steve
I think the arm shape could cause it. Over time, the stylus wears in and obviously it's at a different angle on straight arms than the S-shaped ones so it will wear in differently. Time for some new needles mate!
