CompeteWithPete Posted June 4, 2005 Share Posted June 4, 2005 here's some of mine: It shows the suicide of the City treasurer of Liepzig, and his wife and daughter to avoid being captured by the advancing Allied troops. The composition of the photograph, with the family arranged as if in a meeting, is just so peaceful, and yet totally cold and buisinesslike. I can't help but wonder why they didnt want to die in each others arms on the sofa. The strange angle of the photograph, taken slightly from above gives the image a wierd unreal quality. Bourke-White took other photos of this kind, one of the most disturbing being a photo of a mother covering her two recently murdered children with a white sheet, before killing herself. thich quang duc Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
