Guest Deeswift
Difference is AMD are clever, and Intel are screwed. They have pushed their P4 range to the absolute max and now it's a very strained CPU. Look at the Prescott core P4's to see this. Those things run so hot it's a total joke! It ain't all about clock speed, that's a myth invented by Intel. Because of this they have dropped behind AMD in terms of performance by well over a year, and unless they change the architechture of their desktop CPU's completely, they don't look like they'll be able to compete again. This is why they need to tag on huge L2 cache's to their chips and add HT, etc. Did you know that HT (Hyper-Threading, or as some of us call it "Hype-Threading") was invented and patented by AMD? BTW, I think there's gonna be a 64 bit Intel CPU available at some point in the near future. Intel reverse-engineered AMD's 64 to do it.
