supacuts
My table is wobblier than a wobbly wobble from wobble world throwing a wobbler. I am gonna change this. I have loads of records I rarely play so have decided to stack them flat into 4 piles and lay a board that was on a cheap keyboard stand (hence the wobble), to make a stable plinth. Any objections? I calculate that I will need 1,240 records. Think I can just about do this. Pics to follow. I may need to build it into 3 stacks.
Jimmy
this seems like a bad idea. wouldnt you have to glue/secure them somehow? just buy a £30 desk from ikea.
Pub Tropicana
hi supacuts, PUB EHRE. Great ideas always have "haters" like Jimmy. Go for it. You're a maverick. It will definitely be stable.

Pub Tropicana
Hi supacuts, Pub again,Don't listen to these two. Making a table by balancing a board on "legs" made of stacks of records is a winning idea.
Frost
Dont forget to super-glue EVERYTHING together, even the decks. Thus ensuring a wobble free experience.
Pub Tropicana
Hi Frost Hub Pere. DO NOT GLUE ANY OF IT TOGETHER! Then if a big lorry goes past you'll get the vibration from the lorry! You need it to be able to dampen ground vibrations.
supacuts
I dunno which comments are serious or facetious any more so I have assumed all were serious and have changed my plan accordingly. Pics to follow cos I'm doing it now!
supacuts
It failed. I overestimated how many unused records I have by about 25%. Ikea it is then!
djdiggla
Cinderblocks with glass or board on top. Works great. Cheap. Sturdy. Portable (ish).
Frost
Seriously though.Get a length of worktop with 3 paving slabs on top with rubber inbetween them. Suspend this from your ceiling with 4 chains. Job done.
