DV members - Check your email

I'm just in the process of sending out a mass email to all DV members. If you receive it, please read it. If you don't receive it, don't worry about it, but please let me know as I want to make sure the system is working properly. Thanks! ;)

Don't worry if you haven't received it yet. It's being sent to 20 members at a time and currently it's been sent to 180 people out of the 800+ members.

 

The email address I have for you is your Hotmail one. If that's wrong, update it in your user profile and also PM me and let me know you've done it.

The email was sent to all members, so if you didn't get it it'll be for one of these reasons: -

 

1. The email address on your account isn't valid.

 

2. You have unchecked the box in your profile to allow DV to send you email (the top box on THIS page).

 

3. The email is getting marked as spam and you're not getting it.

That is strange. The log in the Admin CP says that it was sent to all members and there are no errors showing. I sent 2 mass emails and I received both. I also know for a fact that other members received both, so I don't know exactly why some of you guys didn't get either if you've checked all 3 of the things I mentioned above. I'll look into it. Thanks man.

I've just found the problem.

 

Bulk emails are sent out in batches every few minutes depending on the server load. The total time it took to send all of the messages was 39 minutes.

 

Unfortunately, Bluehost have seen fit to limit us to only being able to send 50 emails per hour and the rest are simply rejected, so only the first 50 people have received the email. I'm going to contact them about it now to see if I can get the limit raised, but in future I can just stagger the emails so they're sent in batches of 50 per hour.
