pinstripe0404
Alright I'm considering getting a PDX since I'm not really fond of my tech right now so I have a few questions. I know that the platter on the pdx is higher so do you really feel a difference compared to a tech during use? How long does it take to get used to? Also assuming that the sraight tonarm is a different length then an S tonearm, does that mean I'll have to change the marks on all my records? I've also been wondering the same questions about the TTX aswell.
decisive
Your marks will be in a different place, I wouldn't bother changing em they're just a few degrees anti clockwise on a straight arm, it just takes a wee adjustment. I use a TTX1. c
cbay
im pretty sure the pdx mk2's have a lowered platter compared to the first generation pdxs. as for adjusting, everyone is different man.

OUTERSPACE
i got pdx-d3's mk II since it's release i think 5/6 years ago.still working with no probs.perfect
mr v
the marking thing depends if you mark your samples 12 o clock or on hitting the needles. but this is blatantly obvious anyway. i got first gen pdx's second hand and platter wobbles starting to show on them, test the ttx's as well. Liam
I know that the platter on the pdx is higher so do you really feel a difference compared to a tech during use? Yes How long does it take to get used to?Depends on you. Hell, you might like it! I don't, but that's just me. Also assuming that the sraight tonarm is a different length then an S tonearm, does that mean I'll have to change the marks on all my records?<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes. Unless you've been smart and not stickered your records at 12'oclock, but rather stickered them at the needle. Personally, I was scratching a long time before I realised that anyone even stickered at 12'oclock... I thought everyone would have stickered at the point of contact, it just made more sense to me. So to me, it was never an issue. But it might be to you. Also, handling the tonearm will feel just plain wrong at first. You'll get used to it, though. Oh, and yes, the PDX MKII platter IS lower compared to the MKI. Don't ask me what they're like, though -I still haven't tried out the MKII PDX. Blak Randy
PDX mk 2s have a lowered platter. Personally I'd get a drum kit.
ELGEE
i got those new pdx's and tecks and they feel very similer . didnt really find any problems in the feel apart from the sensitivityof the pitch and the power of the platter which is lovley.
