i feel it. It's just that at any given time, there are formulas being used to create hit singles which you can classify into certain styles of whatever genre. Lots of people like the styles, some don't, some think the people who don't like the styles are cool and so they don't like them either. as for loopers, i don't think they take away from appreciation of music any more than a lot of hip hop does. I mean, primo is one of the greatest producers in the history of hip hop but i couldn't give you any examples of him doing anything besides a beat/scratch chorus/intro/outro... no bridges or breakdowns or anything like that. I think the real problem with music these days is a lack of musical education in the school system. Kids just aren't exposed to quality music anymore. You don't get nearly as many kids wanting to grow up to be famous musicians as you do who want to be rap superstars or something.... it's just not cool enough i guess. I don't know about the school systems in the UK but i graduated grade school in 2003 and the band budget shrank by 25% each year and no one outside of the band gave a flying fuck.
