Live is amazing software, i was just refering to when someone gets a reggae track for example, and then their latest myspace hot favourite that is 30 bpm faster, hits the "make it happen" button so its all time streched and synced up perfectly but the music is crying PLEASE NO!!!

I think it can aid to creativity, I love serato and think it's the perfect combo of the new adding to the old. I did that 80s mix on serato, I bpm'd everything to get an idea of what would fit where, I used pitch lock to get away with some tempo changes, I set markers to aid with some quick mixes and cutting, I don't have a problem with any of that, I mean I still 'did' it live, (er, in three parts) ..but you can either mix and cut and put tunes together in an interesting way or you can't. Technology isn't go to change that. To me the things that ableton can let some hipster wally do with music in a club is quite terrifying but some people like it I suppose.

Get serato and a laptop instead, if you really think that isn't right for you then maybe wait for the vestax midi controller. Buying a CD deck now is taking yourself up a technology cul de sac.

I'm on Virgin - are they worth sticking with or is there a better way to get an uncapped, fairly fast connection? The whole Sky thing has pissed me off.

after trying just about every mac browser - camino, firefox, opera etc I came to the conclusion that despite its flaws, Safari is the best. Although if you couldn't work out how to use tabbed browsing you probably shouldn't be allowed on a computer at all.

I used a friends tt500s fairly frequently and thought they were good, he toured around with them a lot and they stood up to a beating. I thought they were well made but sometimes they wouldn't ground very well with Serato.

The bits where they couldn't refute the evidence that was presented so resorted to the old trick of finding some tenuous link about the author/magazine owner, also the mp3 where the guy goes on the radio talkshow and comes accross as quite reasonable, open minded and balanced whilst the talkshow prick does the usual ranting, brings up things completely unrelated to the discussion and generally comes accross like a right wing shock jock. If you go purely by who actually presents the most calm rational arguements that actually follow the generally accepted rules of debate, then conspiricy theorists (or whatever you want to call yourselves) fail every time.
