  1. sorry couldn't figure where to put it.
  2. Hi ppl, just started using Conductr software on my iPad after having it recomended in the Traktor group on Facebook. It's not half bad, i've been looking for a way to manage and use FX section 3 & 4. I've bought a Maschine Mikro, and reloop neon with a hope of midi mapping these things for my desired use. Not been successful in mapping either and was thinking of selling them until i came across this software. There is a charge of £7.99 to unlock everything but can be used in demo mode for like 20 mins. Even if you already have full Traktor the £7.99 would need to paid to unlock. This software can also be used with Abelton as well and has saved me some money as it works pretty god damn well. very intuitive and very easy to get the desired results. I really couldn't recommend it more, the only thing i'm unsure about is if you can manage your remix decks on it. My thinking is that you can but I only need it for FX 3 & FX 4. https://www.conductr.net/ Check it out, let us know your thoughts and anything else you learn.
  3. can't of been good playing angry as well. not watched it all but it looks like the sound guy offered him out.
  4. owning a SL2 and also Traktor through my Z2. I have a resonable understanding of both. In the 3 years i've had and used Serato. I've had no issues other than relating to my needles or my cables from my decks. Both are to do with external equipment and once fixed worked perfectly. I've had Traktor since October and it's been a learning curve. Traktor is more sensitive and if there is some issue with your deck it will pick it up straight away.. I like both! Traktor though, when you get it rights is great but you do have to work soemtimes to get it to work as you want. you'll be able to get your scratch on, on both of them i'm sure. There both quality. I did intially think Serato was best for scratching/juggling, but after prolonged use of Traktor I actually think its better for scratching and Serato because of the bigger waveform is better for juggling. Fx are better on Traktor but i also find the cues and cue play more accurate on serato. Serato you can set a cue point and pretty much press it in time. Traktor you need to set the cue more accurate to get the same result. last one. serato is very easy to map, traktor is like hell to map. My ten pence worth.
  5. you don't have Z-Trip hip hop takedown mix from last year amongst that list. I don't require a trade but i have it if you want it?
  6. yes Jon! really enjoyed as i always do. RESPECT!!
  7. depends on budget. if money no object get the 62, if it is go for the z2. Z2 is a decent mixer. you can midi map it when not using trakor, you have cue buttons on the faceplate amonst many other functions. the 62 is built better but cost alot more. 57 is a top mixer as well but has now been discontinued and is now out of date as mentioned previously. keep us informed and we'll help with any questions.
  8. also scratch vocals, scratching stuff like arggh and fresh can get boring very quick.
  9. @ericuk - Yea boy that it. You nailed it at 1.22. I will have a closer look at this when i get home, but thanks. Looks basic enough and shouldn't be that hard to learn. Thanks again for taking the time to do the video. Ps: i saw that bit of showing off at the end.
  10. yea it doesn't actually look that complicated.
  11. dicer are excellent, i wish i didn't sell mine.
  12. he actually does it at 0.56 as well.
  13. No thats not quite it. When i get home i'll go through some more vids and find a better example, but cheers for trying.
  14. Hi, i've been hearing this scratch for a while. i've managed to find an example of it at about 1min 10 sec on the below video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qYWgHNE7Hu4 I'll try and find a better example because shadow and cut chemist kept doing it when i saw them a few days ago. It actually seems basic enough. i think it's a scribble with a chirp or something thrown in. I tend to hear it right at the end of a bar as sort of a intro to the next set of scratches there about to use. Anyway I would love to learn this scratch and any help would be appreciated.
  15. can't be great quality ripping from Youtube. look on q bert website thudrumble i think its called. here one i got sent by dj scene, decent and free. https://soundcloud.com/djscene1/scratch-ammo-100bpm
  16. Pretty much an instant double if i've read it right?
  17. Just give it time, down your tools and come back a few weeks later. No doubt your opinion will change. I often have this feel and then start blending more. Two months down the line I have a scratch and I'm actually better.
  18. I'm off to Manchester one, I hoped it's good. I've heard mix reviews.
  19. couldn't agree more. Scratching retired me from multiplayer cod; not such a bad thing. I can scratch for hours after a smoke, once it wear off i just repeat. your not smoking enough, smoke more.
  20. Pro: fun fun fun if it's not fun your not doing it right. con: people who are better than me. Mix Master mike mainly, i'll let Q bert off. Raising the bar so high that you know in your heart of heart you'll never be that good.
  21. man it's my 8th post and my first quote.

It's good practise to lock a grid once you know its tight as future updates of Traktor may try to re-analyse said track. When activated the BPM is locked and a padlock shows up next to the track in the browser window. Definitely! Unfortunately, I've not had as much luck as you with the automatic beat gridding. I find that it sucks the vast majority of the time and it leaves me feeling like I did when I had a digital music collection that wasn't properly tagged. It took me literally years to get that in order. If the beat gridding was successful 90+% of the time then I would use the features of Traktor a lot more, but I just can't be arsed to fix all of the janky grids manually. I haven't used the sync feature for regular mixing, but I have used it while pissing about with other things, for example, taking a sample (say, someone singing) and putting it on a loop, then changing the length of that loop, adding effects, scratching the sample - using sync/snap/quantise means that everything stays in time even if you press a button or turn a knob a fraction out of time, and it's nice to be able to hit the sync button to knock things back into line if you scratch the sample and release it slightly out, given that you might be using short loops and you need to correct things as quickly as possible. It's probably the music I play that fucks up the beat gridding. With dance music that has a clear and steady beat it works well, with hip-hop it generally works OK, but with soul/R&B/funk it's shite in my experience and even the first cue point - the automatic one that's supposed to be at the beginning of the track - is out most of the time. Steve, i thought it was just me being blonde. Many many times i've thought about messaging and saying any chance you could beat grid this track for me but thought i should leave you alone. Beat gridding is still on my list stuff to do since i moved to traktor, i've done it with limited success. right here's my ten pence worth. recently bought the Z2 mainly to get Traktor and full midi capabilities. I've had it a few months now after selling my 57sl in order to get the z2. actually was left with some money in my pocket which was nice. Strangely enough i read the manual on Wednesday from start to finish and found a couple of little tricks. 1. if you press shift and sync you can set either A or B to master. can be useful if you switch tracks abit and confuse Traktor on which is the master. (one less use of mouse) 2. hold shift and turn effect knob(either A or B) above the on switch will cycle through your effect. (useful) 3. when you set a loop which i think you would of worked out by yourself. if you hold shift and move the loop length define knob it will move the loop backwards or forward. 4. hold shift and the on/off effect button it changes fx from post fader to i think it's called pre but you get what i'm saying i hope. I've just bought a Maschine Mikro in order to map some of the other functions, but like someone else has said Traktor is a complicated beast. I've finally managed to map some functions but other are stumping me. If i was you play around with the mixer and if required get another midi device to map some further functions. I’ve used the remix decks, and I’m in the process of trying to map them. I’ve not managed to find a way of turning effect section C/D on and away of assigning to diffrent channels yet but will once I get through my list of stuff to learn. Traktor although it can be a pain in the arse, it's made me learn stuff i never would of bothered with. any question feel free to message me i'll be happy to help.
  23. i've noticed this, i thought i was just being sloopy.
