  1. As far as I understand harmony, the perfect 5th, being the note that adds the least color to a chord after the octave, doesn't do much to define the chord. That's why, when doing voice leading it's better to double the root or 3rd of the chord, which help reinforce the degree or character of the chord. In D Mayor, when you use the 2nd inversion of D (A D F#) it sounds closer to the V chord with its tensions (4th and 6th) than an inverted I chord. That's why playing bouncing bass works, it's kinda like doing a whole chord change just by moving one note.
  2. Big news! You can find the Unit27 Looper now on the iOS App Store: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/unit27-looper/id969873043?ls=1&mt=8 iPad compatibility should be coming soon, just gotta get my hands on one to test some resolution issues. Requires iOS 7.1 Also, got a web version up. It requires the Unity Web Player plug-in, it should ask to install it when visiting the looper page: http://www.unit27music.com/files/apps/Unit27LooperWeb/Unit27Looper.html
  3. It's probably just a matter of bridging the points in the board the switch connects with pieces of wire. You could test it with the other switch and a multimeter in diode mode, touch 2 solder points of the switch, and if there's continuity the multimeter should show a value below 1. Press the switch while touching both points, and if the multimeter value jumps to 1 those are the points the switch is breaking. Solder a piede of wire between those 2 points on the non working transform switch side. I'd recommend removing the switch first, but it should work with the switch on too.
  4. I'm loving mine so far. Just wish the buttons were a bit stiffer like MPC pads, but they really do the job and keep me away from the laptop.
  5. Built a mapping for Novation Dicer and Traktor Scratch. It's based on the official Novation mapping with added Loop control functions and Browser control. The big advantage is that it comes in two versions, normal or inverted, which lets you select which deck's Dicer you want to connect via USB and which to link, adding flexibility to where you can place your computer. 6. Is there a good tutorial somewhere or a service manual on how to calibrate the top screw properly? Seems like everything I've seen are workarounds.
  7. Just built an Android version: http://www.unit27music.com/download/Unit27Looper.apk http://www.unit27music.com/download/Unit27Looper.apkTo install: 1. On your phone, go to Settings > Security, scroll down to Device Administration, and enable Unknown Sources. This will let you install apps from outside the Google Play Store. You can disable it again after installing. 2. Go to your browser and download the .apk from the above address. You should see an animated down arrow indicating it's downloading. When the animation stops, the download is complete. 3. Open your notifications and click on Unit27Looper.apk. Your phone will ask if you want to install the application, click Install. 4. When the installation is complete, you can click Open to launch it. I've tested this version on my own phone and it works properly, but if you find any issues with it please let me know along with what phone model you're using.
  8. I'd need to build a version specific for mobile. I'm still looking into the specifics for different platforms, but I'll try to get mobile versions out soon for testing. Quake? A multiplayer arena first person looper? You might be onto something! Yeah, my biggest draw to Unity is how easy the editor is to work with and being able to code in C#. The need for a plug-in for web does kind of suck. Thanks for the libgdx link, seems really cool. I'll pick it up and give it a spin.
  9. Thanks for checking it out! The idea would be to be able to make versions for mobile devices too, and with the Flash support in those going away it's kinda hard. I'll still look into making a web browser version available. Unity can build for web, but I haven't played around with it properly, and I think it requires to install a browser plug-in to run, but if it's feasible I'll put it out, or look into porting it to Flash.
  10. Update 2: iOS version available on the App Store. Should be compatible with iPhone and iPod Touch iOS 7.1 and up. iPad compatibility on the works. Update: added Android version. Installation instructions in a new post below. I was inspired by the Warflex apps and decided to try using Unity as a Looper building tool, mainly because I hate that most Flash loopers are PC only. Please give this a test and let me know if you find a bug or something that doesn´t work as it should. Mac: http://www.unit27mus...27LooperMac.zip PC: http://www.unit27mus...t27LooperPC.zip iOS: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/unit27-looper/id969873043?ls=1&mt=8 Android: http://www.unit27music.com/download/Unit27Looper.apk (install instructions in post below) Web: http://www.unit27music.com/files/apps/Unit27LooperWeb/Unit27Looper.html The Mac version is a standalone app. The PC version comes as an .exe with a _Data folder, just place both in the same location and launch the exe.
