  1. stop wanking so much, your wrist wont get so tight.
  2. http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?acti...444937A7C246AB7 rick james ghetto life, haha.
  3. Nice setup, I need to get myself some effects pedals. The boss delay any good?
  4. You don't, you plug it into a laptop then plug your decks into the laptop and use the trigger finger to control loops/samples in your comps sequencer. The trigger finger only sends midi data to a sequencer, it wont record audio or anything on its own, hope that helps.
  5. And infinately less portable or fun. WRONG! I use my Laptop and trigger finger at everyshow. It also doubles as my serato set up! VERY PORTABLE, and of course, FUN! alligator food alligator food?? that some damn coon-ass shit?? Tis true if ur using a laptop... If I didn't already have a MPC I'd think about just buying one of those MPC styled trigger pads... But I also think that MPCs are hella unique... IMO they are in general .... less linear I'd say... where as computer shit is less looped sounding and more linear... both are cool, but I prefer using a MPC. To a laptop is too distant feeling. My MPC feels alive like a person. I hope u back that bitch up a lot Saint... gonna loose a lot more than just 100g's of zip data if your laptop crashes! But you also don't have the BS load times I got.... It depends how you use it of course, an mpc is just a dedicated computer sequencer in a box anyway. Part of the charm of the mpc sequencer is the simplicity of it, and the pads are the best out there IMO. Also great soundquality. You can just do alot more with a computer sequencer. You can get alot deeper into editing your midi and audio and I find it alot quicker using a piano roll and nudging the notes along a bit instead of going into step edit on the mpc and putting kick drums at 38 ticks and all that stuff. You can mix a beat down right inside the one box. Groove templates can emulate the swing of the mpc in cubase or whatever. You shell out £800 for an mpc then you need to buy the 8 output board, max out the memory, then buy an outboard mixer and effects (the mpc fx card sounds like shite IMO). All of which cost alot of money. They are starting to move in the right direction though with the newer ones like the 2500 with the grid edit, USB connection, separate outs included etc. Ableton live is the most fun sequencer to use if you ask me, if only it had better midi editing. It all just comes down to what you like best at the end of the day though I suppose. Drums do sound dope on an mpc no question. Which is why im gonna buy one, haha. I'll sync it up to my computer and have the best of both worlds. Peace
  6. A computer sequencer wth a midi controller is infinitely more flexible than an mpc. Good luck with it tho.
  7. MPCs arent all that IMO, one of my mates has a 2kxl and iv had quite alot of goes on it. A computer with a couple of midi controllers and a multi I/O soundcard is far more flexible if you ask me. The best things about an mpc are the quick recording and chopping of samples, solid timing and the sound quality. but computer sequencers can do alot more. With an mpc you definatly need to buy more outboard gear for eqing effects etc or record back into your computer, then you are losing the benefit of the mpc sound quality anyway. Thing is if you sync your mpc up to your computer sequencer via midi you can have the best of both worlds, use the mpc for drums and bass and use the computer sequencer for editing loops/soft synths/ whatever. And yeah the tascam 4 tracks are the shit!! Ive got one of those kicking about.
  8. Nice, im not a fan of the drums tho, they sound too muddy compared to the rest of the track.
  9. I'm not a keyboardist. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Play a guitar then.
  10. nothing iv seen so far makes me wanna buy it to be honest, if you wanna play scales buy a keyboard.
  11. How do you set up dj decks with an m audio 2496? can you only have 1 deck running through or something? Wouldnt mind trying it out.
  12. Leave your torrents to seed before grabbing massive files.
  13. Nice, the beat at 1.12 on the sampler is well good.
  14. http://www.soundcontrol.co.uk/mod_1/pages/...=1.1.5.2.1-31-4 That one mate, m audio 2496. Works good for me.
  15. I dunno about that, when i was just using a shitty realtek on board soundcard i had latency of about half a second, i bought a 60 quid m audio card and latency was inaudible.
  16. lack of motivation. i can never be bothered to scratch most of the time.
  17. yeah nice scratching. good, smooth flow hes got there.
  18. lowering the frequecy on an mpc is like a low pass filter, only good for bass really. i wouldnt put that on samples with alot of top end.
  19. sounds like a dodgy wire to me. or maybe your soundcard is fucked.
  20. It depends who is juggling, the likes if tigerstyle and muzzel have some wicked sounding juggles that dont sound flat at all. but 99% of other juggles i hear bore me to tears.
  21. ableton live, the usual plugins, trigger finger, keyboard, fcb1010, beer.
  22. yep i can hear to 20k, my hearing isnt fucked yet.
  23. Like looping a drum break and aligning a midi grid to the swing of the break so you get more natural sounding programmed drums, yeah? If that is what you mean ableton doesnt have that function, apps like sx3 and maybe logic have it but ableton doesnt as yet. maybe in version 6 it will be added though.
  24. hes on in half an hour at newcastle!!! oh well looks like im not gonna make that.
  25. What are the dates? I might be tempted if there is one up north and nothing else is on.
