  1. im in as long as i can change the tempo back down to the 90's. i dont wanna kill the vibe though
  2. they should battle that highschool band
  3. i got a 16gb flashcard and it reads fine (using os1). i got a mpc 1000 not to long ago and i like it alot. very intuitive. i did however pick up a older mpc 1000 (was only $250) and even though it works perfectly now, i know im going to have to change the pads eventually. oh well, $450 for a mpc isnt bad either (pad upgrade is around $200).
  4. jesus.. combined with: http://www.akaipro.com/apc40 my mpc suddenly looks alot less appealing
  5. one more vote for the 57. i have a scratchbox and even though its probably the best scratch mixer ive ever used, i still think about selling it and my sl1 for a 57 from time to time
  6. its all about the proportion of people to how big the venue is. ive played to 100+ people in a huge ass venue and it looked really dead and ive played to 40 people in a small dive bar and it was live as fuck. and like flipflop said, id rather play to a small crowd feelin what im into then cater to a big crowd anyway.
  7. thanks for the input fellas, i appreciate it. im gonna read up more about jj os and decide what version im going to invest in.
  8. just picked one up from a friend of a friend for $250 + shipping. said it looks/works perfect and he even made a video demo showing all the pads are good. so my question for those of you that have one is, being that this is my first mpc, should i learn how to use the akai os first or jump straight into the jj os? and if you recommend the jj os, which version are you using? my main concern is that the akai manual may be more comprehensive then the jj os manual (unless im wrong?)
  9. glk is a good choice if hes already touring over there. murder
  10. thanks for the comments. im gonna try to record myself more for purposes of improvement. watching yourself scratch can almost be painful sometimes. haha. i never noticed how much i repeat the same record movement variations.
  11. its on the sloppy side.. just consider it a part of my style. haha and yes, the scratching is too loud.
  12. thanks steve. top 5 should be posted sometime tomorrow. im really not expecting it to be in the top 5 at this point, but that would definitely be dope. if the track does make the top 5 however, im gonna need all of you to spam the hell out of all of your friends to get them to vote!
  13. jake one had a contest running where you choose any of his instrumentals from white van music and make song with it. my friend (nomis) entered and I layed down some cuts for the chorus. check it out: track is called "make sure my mic is loud" http://myspace.com/nomis rhymesayers chooses the top 5 and then votes from the public determine it the winner. they were actually supposed to have the top 5 up yesterday but extended it because of the overwhelming response.. its a long shot but we have our fingers crossed.
  14. been buyin some mp3's off of juno lately for releases that i cant afford to get shipped to the states.
  15. yup. i used to run serato on a gateway (1.8ghz turion, 2gb of ram) with the latency set at 1. never crashed. prior to that i ran it on an even lower spec pc with no problems either
  16. kero one - windmills of the soul instrumentals http://www.mediafire.com/?mmgxx1djw1d j rawls - liquid crystal project http://sharebee.com/36cc1eb7
  17. what do you think about it? is there problems with sticker drift? ive been thinkin about getting it cause of the the onboard effects, vst capabilities, quick scratch samples.
  18. thats true... however if i were that guy and saw that the xone:02 was in the compatible mixer list, the adaptor board was giving me a green light and saw that marx said that he fixed the issue, id probably proceed to install it just like him. either way, id like to give it a try. i cant imagine any fader being better than the infinium in the scratchbox. i like that the innofader has a closed design where as the infinium is completely open for dust to enter though.
  19. Thats funny, seems like the problem with the 02 wasnt fixed. Spelunk @ skratchlounge:
  20. Sept. 20, 2008 — Travis Barker, the former drummer for the pop-punk band Blink 182, and Adam Goldstein, also known as DJ AM, were hospitalized in critical condition with severe burns after the fatal crash of a Learjet Friday on takeoff from Columbia S.C. Four other people aboard the jet died in the accident. They include the pilot Sarah Lemmon, 31, of Anaheim Hills, Calif., and co-pilot James Bland, 52, of Carlsbad, Calif., Lexington County Coroner Harry O. Harman said. The identities of two other passengers killed in the crash have not been released. Barker and Goldstein had performed at a free show in the Five Points area along with Jane's Addiction and Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell and headliner Gavin DeGraw. No reports had surfaced of Farrell or DeGraw having been on the jet. Barker, 32, and Goldstein, 35, got out of the plane on their own before rescue crews arrived, according to Lynne Douglas, a spokeswoman for the Columbia Metropolitan Airport. The four who died never emerged from the plane's burning wreckage. The two artists, who had been performing together at a concert in Columbia sponsored by T-Mobile, are being treated at the Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Augusta, Ga. Both suffered severe burns, burn center spokeswoman Beth Fritz told ABC News. The Learjet was taking off from the airport shortly before midnight, the Federal Aviation Administration said. Controllers in the tower saw sparks as the plane was heading down the runway, and the pilot told controllers they were going off the end of the runway. The plane ran off the runway onto a local road and caught on fire. The flight was heading from Columbia to Van Nuys, Calif. Copyright © 2008 ABC News Internet Ventures
