When you 'double-up' on a record - you have one of your records one beat, or two beats either in front or behind the record that's playing - you then cut between the two with the crossfader to get For example, If we have a record with a vocal that goes '1, 2, 3, 4' (let's say the the vocals match the four beats of a bar), and you were to double up by having the second record one beat in front, it would sound like '1, 2, ,2, 3, 3, 4, 4,' I double up on a Crooklyn Clan track on this video: Hope that's of some help...I'm usually quite crap at explaining things!

A record on 33rpm only at about 133bpm will get a perfect sticker loop....anything else will be less..... A Hip Hop record on 45rpm, however will usually get a perfect loop of about half a bar from my experience.... Hope that helps....

Most clubs have got a fixed installation....usually 2 1200s/1210s, 2 CDJs, and a 4 channel or more mixer - either a Pioneer 600, 800 or 1000, or one of those horrible Allen & Heath mixers with a crossfader that dips in the middle.... However, more clubs are starting to include SL1 units in their setups these days....

Hey people, Just a quick question - any of you d00ds play guitar or drums at all? Got a couple of ideas for this year's battle season..... Don't particularly wanna give anything away, but got a specific idea for a routine that needs some guitar and drum interpolations.... Let me know!

I've only ever used the Pioneer CDJs, which I have to say are actually quite good to work with if you're gonna go that route....but, alas, they are very pricey! The Denon CDJ's are meant to be dope too....can't remember how much they go for though!

Yeh man - I went to a club night at Koko once and it finished a something like 4am.... Then again, it was the Camden Crawl - so might have been different...
