  1. Hey all! Back in the day there was an incredible resource on asisphonics.com called The Ever that listed basically every technique under the sun. I wonder if there is a similar 'scratch bible' out there today? I just ask cos I haven't cut for about 10 years and want to get filled in on all the mad new school techniques I missed!
  2. A bit old, but sometimes old is good. Gotta post some new stuff this year, but for now here's my Ugly Duckling vs Hendrix routine.
  3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwjMTce80lw JR FLO 2001 DMC - I love the reverse styles on the first juggle in this clip.
  4. @ djfoly - am I missing something, or when has YogaFrog ever cut? I know he was part of the infamous turbo scratch swindle a few years back but I've never heard him scratch, thought he was just part of the thudrumble cash makin' machine. Q's cuts don't get me hyped as much as they used to, but he's done so much to advance scratching and has come out with some nuts concepts over the years - reverse drumming anyone? and his new drum and cut at the same time routine is amazing!
  5. Its cold outside. Stick this in your MP3 player, toaster or 8 track and bump it like the clumsiest Mr Men hero. Summer's coming. Santa isn't. also no digital messing!!! live from vinyl as it happened. De La Soul - Buddy Schooly D - Smoke Some Kill Grandmaster Flash - The Message LL Cool J - Mama Said NWA - Express Yourself Q Tip - Let's Ride Tribe Called Quest - Award Tour PD Three - Syncopated Noisy Music Last Skeptik - Allende Gang Starr - Jazz Thing feedback welcome. Copy and paste it: http://www.zshare.net/audio/54562322cca489cc/
  6. I haven't read through the 27 pages of controversy however I think it's been refreshing to hear some actual criticism to props to Vekked for doing so. I've felt for a while that turntablism reached it's peak in 2005 when people liked Pfel, Tigerstyle and Muzzell were rocking super tight, technical routines that actually sound good (check out the second half of the muzzell's 05 dmc on the tube, it could pass for a track) and Le Jad routines make my ears bleed. I was really disappointed with the standard at UK DMC in 07 and felt for the first time like I'd wasted my money on a battle vid. That said, there were a couple of solid routines and that gives me a little hope for the standard of battles improving. I personally thought that Sinical's routine was wicked - razor sharp cuts man! Furious P was tight too although I think Sinical's set had more energy and variety so 1) well done everyone 2) where are the dope juggles? there was some serious lame loopage going on in a couple of sets, however I can't really have a pop at weetamix as he took me out in supremacy a million years ago : P 3) I will post new routines sometime - ain't battled in three years!
  7. i need medical help for my addiction to wii tennis
  8. word to whoever said lally is the best scratch track of all time - it has such an incredible chilled vibe.
  9. I have a cut called the wave scratch that I've never seen done, it's a different type of double fader scratch. i'll try and get it on t'tube next week. there's gotta be some stuff out there still to discover like delay variations. also people have slept on some incredible techniques, i've never seen anyone apart from Woody himself use the woodpecker but it's got to be one of my faves as i sounds like nothing else! incidentally muzzell- what scratch pattern do you do right at the start of your 05 dmc set over the sample "we all know how the story goes"?
  10. Any tips for tightening your juggles up? I'm working on some stuff for DMC this year but it's still pretty sloppy despite muchos practicing.
  11. I want to start making beats and I have a few elementary questions... are MPC's the best way to start? If so are some of the earlier ones to be avoided? Or is there better software out there at the moment?
  12. I can't find this on vinyl anywhere (except the instrumentals.) Anybody got a copy for sale/know where I could get it from? Cheers.
  13. Having been out of the country this year i've just had a quick catch up with all the usual DMC gossip and You-tube jollities. I've heard a few gripes from people about DMC this year to the effect that the standard actually took a step backwards from previous years. Whether this is true or not (I can't really comment until I see the DVD) it would back up my feelings about battling in the last few years going down the pan a little. I remember being blown away the first time I saw the likes of Quest and Tigerstyle at the 03 DMC which I just didn't witness the last time I was at a comp. Are battle routines reaching a plateau or is there better yet to come? Discuss!

I listened to so many explanations of delayed 2 clickers before getting them down. I think I've got an audio somewhere if anyone knows of an Mp3 hosting site?
