  1. made this tonight. let me know what you think. thanks. its called "when will she tell me." http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cf...p;content=music
  2. this pattern does not change the order of cue points between left and right turntable correct? meaning, if you start with your left table as the first kick, and fill in 16th note kicks with the right, once youve played your pattern, you still begin with the left table. its almost as if one table is always going to be the snare, as opposed to alternating the designation.
  3. but this is a combo too. so what are you saying? didnt babu say that there was no possibility to create new scratches, only ways to elaborate on combos and techniques?
  4. i made a new beat loop tonight. kinda funky, i like it. http://www.purevolume.com/unseenno1/albums/99420689
  5. sorry if this is in the wrong forum but i thought this is something i made tonight, its not finished, just a rough draft. needs a lot of EQing and other stuff but listen... http://www.purevolume.com/unseenno1/albums/99420689 "will you cry (trowa remix)" thanks...

  7. please forgive me for the newbie questions, but ive been using reason for a year or so, but have been doing it in a real "rigged" way and its really limiting my production. ive just started to attempt chopping of samples etc, but cannot: 1) get samples to chop in sound forge as you would recycle where you can play each snippet. i know how to set markers but... 2) get samples to play in dr rex loop player. ive tried saving them as all types, but cant get it to even show up in the file list. any help with this would be great. thanks.
  8. im in the same camp trying to get it tight. as redundant as this sounds, it just takes mad practice. spot the cue spots way before you get your hands over there. im finding its all about not being lazy and throwing back to the cue without really putting it at the right spot. like dont settle for a half ass routine. if you feel like its sloppy, break each part down, and make sure you got it right. i think its all about muscle memory, and having this become second nature. sorry its not much help but...
  9. yeah that helps a lot. i was thinking, it has to have one revolution in order to have it loop that way. so i was going to increase or decrease temp to make it fit. thanks for your help.
  10. yo what up? ima start training and creating a routine so i can enter some battle contests. does anyone exactly know how to sticker a loop? i can get it to loop, but cant get it to loop a complete bar, only like half to 3/4 before the stylus throws it back to the beginning. any help would be appreciated. thanks...
  11. what are most clubs/lounges/big bars set up with these days? will you automatically find some 1200s there, with the option to bring your own gear? do many places have cdjs? thanks for the information...
  12. serato is definitely an option, but it will cost me a lot more to get a laptop that i truly want to use with it [in addition to producing and editing]. i also cannot stand all these djs who have serato and spend more time looking at the laptop screen for cue points and basically having never learned true fundamentals of mixing and vinyl manipulation. but then again, getting cdjs is about the same sacrifice.
  13. i have always used vinyl [and plan to do so for scratch, juggling, and battle related] but have recently found that its more practical to look into cdjs for mixing applications, mostly because i dont want to spend money on vinyl i dont even like listening to. does anyone have any suggestions for some decks? ive done my research, and so far, without breaking the bank, im looking into the gemini cfx 30 or mpx 40. if anyone have any opinions on these or other decks, let me know. thanks...
  14. i made each of these in like 40 minutes or so. theyre still pretty raw, but i have to add some scratches over them, clean them up a bit like EQing etc. thanks for the input. http://www.purevolume.com/unseenno1
  15. im so puzzled. i have my portable pto1 going into line 1 of my tascam. i have my master out to the line in of my pc. when recording, all the levels are fine, but when i playback the sample is totally covered in static. i mean i can hear the sample, but its all fuzzed over real bad. whats up? is it a missing ground from the tto1? or you think its the line in on the pc thats messed up? i used to be able to get this same set up working with clarity (minus the pt01, instead it was a 1210.) help me please!!! thanks...
