  1. There's better to come from Premier. He's collaborating with....Christina Aguilera!!! http://www.sohh.com/articles/article.php/7540 Oh god.
  2. Still, the overall price of the record is nothing compared to that K-Rob vs Ramellzee or whatever it was that steve posted not too long ago.
  3. Around that time he's mixing Clifford Gilberto Rhythm Combination - Brasilia Freestylee with DJ Food - Scratch Yer Hed [squarepusher Remix] <---which is a fucking amen completely-head-banging tune.
  4. I had that exact same repetitive popping sound with FS 1.5 when I switched to phono channels on my mixer. Some people have sorted it by having their laptops de-earthed but that did nothing for me. I bought four ground loop isolators (they're about £2 each or something) and I THINK, it was sorted by putting 2 of them in the phono out channels on the scratchamp. In any case it was sorted by GLIs which are well cheap.
  5. I love my SA-12 - All replaceable P&G faders, decent OS2 switches, hamster & curve control for cross and up-faders and built in effects to top it off, which is well easy to incorporate into mixes. It's been discontinued now I think though, so it's probably a case of finding one second hand.
  6. Just finished a mix I've been wanting to get done for ages, and hopefully its one that if mass produced and handed out to the right people, will get me a slot somewhere in Manchester. The ratio is about half and half hip-hop to other stuff and in terms of music styles I've tried to mix it up throughout to keep it interesting. It's all been done in one take apart from about 30 seconds of scratching that I'm going to put on right at the start of it. I'll upload it and put the link up tomorrow morning, and of course any feedback will be greatly appreciated, cheers!!
  7. X-Ecutioners - Premier's X-ecution <-scratching on that track is bluddy brilliant Afu-Ra - Equality and Monotony both v good beats M.O.P. - Everyday
  8. it was well weird that they put beans on at peak time, and the beats he was spitting over were really dark and heavy, much like tracks u'd scratch over. That came right after a standard issue upbeat party set from cash money (started off poppish but got better - maybe was just the drink) so everyone was a bit miffed, prob cuz they didn't know what to expect, but it was defo the wrong time to have him on. I didn't hear him get boo'ed, the place just went quite quiet. As soon as marky got on after him tho the place went mental.
  9. err lemme see.. disk, mike, q. flare, even nearly mentioned apollo but he was never isp though. who asked that question? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> was just at the end of one of those e-flyers that you get sent if you're on the mailing list, turns out I was the first person to answer it. Was quite a good night, no Mr. Thing or Giant Panda though, was well looking forward to both of them!
  10. ...all for naming 2 other invisibl skratch piklz other than Shortkut! He's playing, along with DJ Marky & Dynamite MC, Cash Money, Beans & Giant Panda (meant to be v good - J5'ish). Should be a good one!
  11. My mates got Under the Munka Moon and says it's v good, I think she has another one out as well called Letters. I've only really noticed her as a standout vocalist cuz of QSOs album.
  12. 2 days ago i bought Breakestra's and Quantic Soul Orchestra's albums and they both sound v good on first listening. I reckon standout tunes on breakestra are hiding, hit the floor and the one with a couple of J5 in it. as for QSO, i ruddy love feeling good, seek it out!
  13. He's a fucking beefcake. Leaders of the New School were dope.
  14. cheers for the beat man, nasty sounding and a nice pace! that'll do nicely for FS scratch practice.
  15. Trinity (w/ Louis Logic & L-Fudge) is quite a necksnapworthy classical beat as well.
  16. how bad is it? I find that after excessive use the fader feels kind of loose/wobbly like that, I think you can sort it out by tightening the relevant screws inside the fader, unless you have extreme sideways movement in which case I have no idea.
  17. They played quite a few years ago in Notts before DJ Shadow and were ace. They play in Manchester, mostly at The Roadhouse quite a lot as they're from round here. As to their albums, although their 2nd album (Superhero Music) has its moments (like The Chase, Don't Turn Around the the title track) and as an overall concept it's brilliant, IMO The Main Event (1st album) is most worth picking up in terms of out and out cool turntablism meets funky double bass-ness. It's probably the simplest of the three albums but also the most hip-hop orientated and head-nod worthy in terms of individual tracks working in a set or whatever.
  18. How can they prove you downloaded the tracks off the Internet illegally? It seems more of a tax than a licence to me. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This makes life a hell of a lot harder for DJs who want to have copies of their vinyl on mp3. Rather than finding a copy on P2P they're saying it all has to be done real time. Why does it matter when it's going to produce exactly the same result!? Anuses.
  19. Anyone got any mixes of his to post up? His DJ style sounds sehr interessant. Does he mix, scratch and produce or just the first two?
  20. I'll add Deacon the Villain (off Cunninlynguists, Kno is a bit wanky but makes ace beats) and Percee P, and agree to J.U.I.C.E., Akrobatik and Mr. Lif. Also up till now Masta Ace...and The Artifacts.
  21. Steve, what's your excuse? It has Hijack AND Sons of Noise!!
  22. as in 'Fable' the rpg game? If so I remember that, was quite good.
