    Combo Generator

BUMP anybody got this handy for a upload. cheers
  2. Let me know when your putting stuff up I'm always interested in buying vinyl especially in bulk.
  3. You need to use firewire I've never seen a camera that uses USB. Firewire or IEEE 1394 is the standard for DV camera's. Premiere will recognise the camera with firewire it will work no hassle then. Premiere is fine, it's no avid but it will do the job all video editiors are much the same. Just different workflows for different tape standards. For DV stuff premiere is good enough. Although you ain't going to be cutting an HD documentary or drama in it though.
  4. You need a Firewire card to digitise from the Camera. There pretty cheap, or if your computer has a firewire port use that. Premiere should recognise you dv camera when it's plugged in and you should also have control from inside the software. Then in Premiere you just go to Capture from tape in the file menu if I remember correctly. hope this helps
  5. In my own experience having a couple of mixtapes is a good idea if it's for bars then the more electic selection of tunes the better. If your near a studenty area then that is a good oppurtunity to play through the week etc. That builds some word of mouth and gets your face about. It is really who you know for clubs and stuff I came down from the north east where I had been playing out regularly and had residencies, to manchester, yet it still took me about 6 to 8 months to get regular gigs and start doing some clubs. To be honest though if you want something to happen club wise then the only way to do it is start your own night. I'm in the same boat now as I stopped playing out in 98 to get my career off the ground and am now considering playing out in bars again but in leeds not manchester so I have to start over just about. I am doing mixtapes now for that reason. good luck mate if you have a good mixtape that usually is enough to get peoples attention. sorry if it's all blatanly obvious just sharing my experiences.
  6. Yeah I had'nt forgot.................. LOL
  7. Just thought I'd throw in a random like the howard fooking donald FLOL.
  8. Andy Johnson with that bone head mate. I would'nt visit liverpool if I was you you may well get a kickin.
  9. Ah thats a good price you got a link or owt joe. cheers adam
  10. Yeah I have a 06 with a proX in I fucking hate it, it rattles like a bastard. The proX is cool though. I have a 56 as well I even thought of going for muzzels 56 just to get rid off the bag of bones that is the 06. I need 2 mixers for my setup. Can you put a proX in the sa5 thats a great price joe.
  11. Cheers for the other vids bones, I have watched the netik routine about 5 or 6 times now. There's no doubt he won it hands down his routine was very original and he has mad skills. Musically though I can't help thinking of a bad night I had at the park in rotterdam in 91 with a handful of horse tranquillisers. I just was'nt felling that grungy heavy electronic stuff. He nailed it though and I respect that. He completly deserves it. Anybody else not feeling it.
  12. Really nice cuts steve, how you finding the proX ? Not that you need it though your shit always sounds tight.
  13. There definately is vinyl being produced a lot of the new music wave is being pressed on vinyl. It's actually easier to find new bands on vinyl like a lot of the stuff like gorrilaz, razorlight, editors etc etc. Even old stuff like the who, stones etc These youngens think it's 1979 anyway with there skinny jeans and post punk/casual fashion sense. So they probably think it's cool to buy vinyl. Just go to your local HMV there's loads of them being all franz ferdinand.
  14. Bet you say that to all the ladies. LOL Seriously though I'm with you matt, there are still loads of tunes out there that hav'nt been touched though just have to dig deeper and deeper. Although I think with the emergence of serato and such DJ's have the oppurtunity to remix stuff and play it out. which I think is cool, I don't own serato though and would'nt like to digitise all my wax in, it would take a while.
  15. it's a-trak with a tash. at 15 you could have won big things in the tash world mate. FLOL adam.
  16. Just listened to it all I thought it was really good mate. I like the jazz funk stuff and the last 20 mins I really liked. The cuts were really good on it as well. The only crits I have are the mix at 10:00 or there abouts seems a little abrupt does'nt flow that well. I was'nt really in to the acapella bit at around 20:00 its gets better when the jazzy tune has gone though. The prodigy mix just did'nt work for me I could here you manipulating the record too much like almost trying to get it to work. Nice idea but the tunes just did'nt go IMHO. Real nice though mate, It'll be on my MP3 for my commute into work. Really enjoyed it.
  17. DLing now, I really liked your last one so looking forward to this one.
  18. I love the package design it's real nice. I was impressed when I got mine.

    Cuts

I'd love to hook up dex if that was aimed at me. My cuts are pretty basic really I ain't up to delayed whatevers but I'd love to meet up for a cut. If you don't mind cutting with a shoddy amateur. I'm fairly busy at the moment but if we can keep in contact we should be able to sort something out. let me know mate.
  20. All looks good drakule, you involved with this.
  21. May have a look at the manchester one, as I missed him in leeds a couple of months ago. You should come up for it craig.

    Taking A .mov video...

I use uncompressed avi's straight out of premier. I use Nero vision express or whatever it is and that works fine. I have used this for my animation reels and have had no probs with it. should really work for quick times as well really.

    Cuts

There is a huge post on coldkutcombo about them which by the way I do not understand one fooking bit of. I've been trying to learn 2 clickers for months and still ain't got them flowing. Spending 2 months practicing a scratch is about as close to a delayed 2 click flare as I'm getting. http://www.coldkutcombo.com/forum/viewtopi...cks&start=0
  24. As far as I know steve you'd be better of just digitising your old vhs's into your computer mate. I have a tivo and I love it and there's a load of hacks out there, but to buy a dvd recorder with a hard drive in would just be a waste of cash. You just end up wanting it to do what your computer is perfectly capable of doing. Just get a capture card and start digitising it all in. If your desperate to record off TV then get a cheap DVD recorder. Your computer is a much more capable editing workstation than some DVD/HDD hardware. PM me if you want to know more, or I can help you out.
  25. Hahaha those were the days!!! I remember back in '93 every self respecting scratch DJ had one of these. ) I've still got my kam made 2 fade GM35 scratch mixer with transform buttons. It was one up from the infamous kam made 2 fade GM25. I was very proud of it.
