Steve
Kper sent me a CD with some mp3s on it. Some of the file names have quotes in them, e.g. "cash_money".mp3 I think he might have burned the disc using a Mac or other non-Windows system. Anyway, Windows will not let me play these files, nor can I copy them to the hard drive. Obviously I can't rename them because they are on a CD. Any ideas how I can get round this? rygon
u cant burn them because u aint got a cd copier or it wont allow you to?
Steve
Nah mate they are already on a CD. Windows doesn't recognise files that have quotes in their names so the mp3s can't be played. I can't copy them from the CD to my PC either for the same reason.
rygon
long shot btu what about converting the mp3 files into a different file wma, ogg, wav using a convertor. let it read the info from the disc and it will then make a output onto ya pc (hopefully)i just downloaded sum bad files which i had to convert so i could listen to them.try http://www.audio-converter.com/
Guest Deeswift
Converting like that is gonna lose quality. I'd say get Kper to send you another CD Sigma. Not sure what you can do to get around it.
Steve
It's only one folder on the CD that has these weird names mate. I can't convert the files using your method Rygon because these files are not acceptable to Windows at all. They can't be renamed, converted, copied, played or anything. I think I'll just admit defeat on this one. The rest of the CD is fucking wicked though!
