FUCK CTRL-ALT-DEL

It takes more system resources to load the logout/restart dialog using control-alt-delete than it does to directly open the task manager by using control-shift-escape. Most of the times you need to access the Task Manager are when shit is going wrong. Almost all the times i need to use the task manager are when im low on system resources...so why use up more of them by pressing control-alt-delete when i can accomplish the same thing faster and by using less memory?

It depends how your PC is configured. When I press Control-Alt-Delete, only the Task Manager appears anyway, not the log off dialog. You could create a shortcut to taskmgr.exe and assign any keyboard shortcut you like to it.

Yeah, I don't get no log-off dialog box. Just the same as you Steve, only the Task Manager pops up. Is this down to the fact that mine is the only user account on here?

I think it depends if your account is password protected or not. For a while I had mine protected so I had to type the password in before the desktop would appear. Then when I pressed Control-Alt-Delete I got the log off, lock computer, task manager blah blah dialog box instead. Now it's set to auto-logon it doesn't do that, but I can still lock the PC with the Windows key and L if I want to.
