I got to hang out and talk with him one time. Was working at a venue in the kitchen and they were having SXSW shows in the large beer garten. Bernie was friends with the band (I think it was Gov't Mule which is random) ...so he was there and they made the side dining room by the kitchen the green room. Manager knew P-Funk was my favorite band so she told me to just go chill and give him whatever he wants. We sat back there drinking Heinekens and talking about music for probably an hour.
