To go along with the "I just bought..." thread - and since we're all a bunch of gear hungry nerds - I figured a thread about what we're going to buy next might be interested (because we're *always* going to buy something next)

Imminent purchases:

- Koma Elektronik Field Kit / Field Kit FX

Ideally both, but first is the FX. All kinds of beautiful noisefuckery is possible with this bad boy. Damn you, Hainbach

- Moog Mother 32 or Make Noise 0-Coast

The fact that I can't decide which to get is the main thing that is saving me from the imminent wormhole of modular...

To buy at some point:

- Digitech Polara (thanks, Matt!)

I never thought I particularly needed a reverb... until I realised I particularly needed reverb

- Tascam DP-08ex

If it''s for a decent price, this little beast is well worth investing in. £100 or less, definitely. A digital 8 track that records to SD cards with effects and built-in mics - a standalone recording unit or field recording monster. Both

- Chase Bliss Warped Vinyl

Yeah, I can do that shit with plugins but where is the fun in that?

Things that look dope but which I can't justify the expense of aka I could get a Mother 32 or 0-Coast for that money:

- Critter & Guitari Organelle

I don't even know what I want this particularly for, but I want one. These are dope.

- Empress Effects Zoia

I can't even accurately describe what this does but it's fucking insane. Youtube it

---

Obviously I'll add more because I have problems and I'm a fiend for this shit.

Shit don't want to want but kinda do:

- Behringer Model D

Look, it sounds great but it's a fucking Boog. It'll probably die inside of a year... but it's also crazy cheap and I couldn't distinguish it from the real deal unless I had them in the same room at the same time. I feel unclean. Hold me.

Pete, the first step is publicly admitting you have a problem.

Hehe - it's so true, mate!

I'm trying to stave off some of the associated financial doom of modular wormhole by going down the DIY route, building my own modules first and seeing how that works out...

JB - you don't need any more convincing about the El Cap, I'm sure, but it's one of 2 pedals I never want to be without (the other being the MF-101 Low Pass which can make everything you put through it a bit Moog-y - if you want it to)

Have you seen the Look Mum No Computer videos on youtube?

I have, mate - that kid is superb. Not always my cuppa musically but very difficult not to love the guy and what he does

Hehe - sorry man, my gear lust could potentially be infectious!

That's the beauty of those units, though - they just make fantastic noises. Whether you want to use those noises in productions or just to enjoy them for what they are, they're equally great

I've been trying to talk myself into buying a roland sp-555 for some time but $500 used seems kinda steep.

You tried one Dirk?

The SP-505 doesn't interest me personally, there's something about the design and the layout of the controls that I find off putting but the SP-606 I'd definitely consider.

Edit:

I've just noticed that you actually said

SP-555 not the 505..ignore me, I'm an idiot with bad eyesight.. :p

There's a good review of the SP-555 here!

A Moog(s) is on my short list. Thinking Minitaur and slim phatty

I'd get one or the other tbh unless you're planning on doing live stuff and want the Minitaur for portability. I bought a Minitaur a few years ago and then levelled up to a Sub37 and hardly go back to the Minitaur now - it's a beast but the Sub37 covers everything it does and more.

This wins the shit out of this thread - we may as well close it now. Beautiful work, Manu (HOLLA!)

I've been out of the game for a while now. I just put my setup back together and realized that my shits a little dated. Im using m-audio torq for a dvs and that shit dosent run on windows 10. So if my old laptop takes a dump on me, i'm shit outta luck. And i just realized that my stanton sk-2f is like a vintage mixer now. So i've been considering getting a pioneer s3. upgraded mixer and it comes with serato dj. cant afford an s9 and i can use my mpk mini for midi triggers.

I’ve seen some around 250-300€ (and at the same time sp404 more expensive xD) but it’s hard to buy them when also I can find mc808 around the same price point...

Yeah, it seems so neat but really hard to justify paying over $150-$200USD.

If you're not tied into Serato yet and looking at an s3-type mixer, you might want to try the djm250 mk2 - exactly the same mixer and a lot cheaper. Only real difference is it comes with Rekordbox DJ instead of Serato DJ.
