djdiggla
No, not dopplekornhole, I'm talking about this:http://www.alternet.org/medias-problem-gay-rappers Thoughts? Anyone care? I don't. I really like sissy-bounce... which isn't really mainstream in anyways, but all lesbian cross-dressers. But the whole gay rapper thing does fly in the face of the traditional male dominated bravado rap thing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=in9SiDtJLaU
Blak Randy
That is a great bit of standup.
djfoly
If it's good it's good. Recently I look at rap videos and they look like the whole style is out of a fashion magazine which is pretty much dominated by gay men in terms of production design, or so I'm told by the media anyway. I don't think it will be a massive difficulty for the young folk of today to accept gay rappers their culture has much more gay imagery and focus than ours did. This is neither bad nor good but rather a reflection of society! Fair play to them, but I'll stick to Eric Sermon ;P
R Funksmith
It is interesting though, in that rap has machismo as kind of a fundamental element... so how does that work with a gay rapper? And will a gay rapper be talking to everyone, or just his gay fans? Because if he's rapping about his sexual conquests, 89% of the population won't be able to relate. I imagine lesbian rappers will have an easier time, what with it being basically okay to be a lesbian as long as you're super hot.
