  1. i can get down to some of the heaveir dark stuff but only in moderation.... I like the funkier stuff because it uses the same soulful samples like hip hop but puts the drums in double time. Some of it sounds like real cheese but done right and i can't get enough of it and thank god there is an exciting scene behind it and not post-golden age
  2. Just checkin to see who all on here listens to DnB. I just started listening to some of the more soulful liquid tunes like from redeyes, makoto, submorphics & trino, etc. Any other heads on here listen to this type of stuff? -grizz
  3. does it make the same sound when SSL isnt connected?
  4. i'll check this out tomorrow, i can't stop listening to Drum and bass, it's fuckin awesome
  5. yeah, like audition or pro tools or whatever you use on your computer
  6. Building on the idea about using an acapella+original version to create an insrumental, this method uses similar principles to create the same effect, but without having to line up two different files which may have different bitrates or anything like that. THIS WILL NOT WORK 100% OF THE TIME AND WILL NEVER WORK PERFECTLY. The purpose of this thread is to point out this technique to those who may have tried the other way to remove vocals and it hasn't worked out for whatever reason. had to throw that in there because some douche at DJF got his panties in a wad So all you have to do is open up your original track in your DAW and select just one channel of the song (channel meaning either the Left or Right parts of the stereo track). Invert for example the Left channel of the track. Create a new MONO track in your DAW and copy the inverted left channel and the normal right channel of the original song in the new track and voila, you have an instrumental. This works based on the fact that in 90% of the songs you hear, the instruments are panned out a little to the left or right to create seperation in the track. Thus, if you bring one side of the track out of phase, the only part that will cancel out is the vocals since they are in the center and are equally represented in the stereo mix. After doing this, you can combine it with the orignial to get your acapella but you will find that any instruments not panned full left or right will stil be somewhat present in your version. The only way to get around thos at this point is some creative EQ'ing.
  7. bill withers - use me up... gotta love that riff
  8. thought the snares were on time but maybe they could use come veloctiy adjustments... everything else is great though
  9. im a rightie but i often wish i had started leftie. My cut style is really fader intensive so it seems counterintuitive to have my strong hand on the record. as far as looks go, im a fat piece of shit so im not too worried about my stance looking cool or not.
  10. dark side of the moon or any of those crazy pink floyd musical tangents they go on
  11. a bit unrefined so far, but it looks like it's probably easy to hack your own version. Check it out
  12. So i'm tryin to hook up this m-audio 410 firewire to my computer. i got the device being recognized in my device manager as working properly and all that, but when i go to record in audition the device doesn't show up in the device order list. All my sound still comes out of the laptop speakers and i'm not getting any input from the interface where did i fuck this up?
  13. now all they need is to apply that concept to one of these guys:
  14. really neat midi controller wonder what you could do with a midi turntable. One giant modulation knob you could cut out w/ the crossfader? who knows.... later
  15. wow this looper is iiiiiiiiilllllllllllllllllllllll
  16. Allright, so i understand the concept about the washer mod except for the getting it on the rail part. I've done it in the past by just cutting a little slit in the washer and putting on the rail like that. So my question is: is there anyway to get the rails out of the fader and have better access to the rail for cleaning purposes also? I know having a loose fader rail can mess your shit up so i haven't really tried removing them at all. high dollar hoe DHL'ed to anyone who can help!
  17. thats prettyt fresh how he can do it so clean without really seeing whats he's done

i really like the versus mode in Gears of war and the really killed it with the controls for that game. duck, roll, post and run all on the same button is brilliant
  19. virtua figher 4 on ps2 was classic but not many people seemed into it.

  21. i'd consider going ahead and upgrading that graphics card; it seems like mostly all mobos w/ nvidea chipsets are running x16 exclusively.
