  1. What do you make of this?
  2. what's a decent temperature to have your stuff working at? I'd like my computer to run a little quieter, but i don't know how hot i can run it before i'm being mean to it. everything is running around 35 degrees at the moment, except two mystery things, which claim to be at 127 degrees! what's with that?
  3. The answer to that is... PHAT. i played with the vst and really dug it, and found one going cheap nearby. and when i picked it up and paid up, i felt slightly foolish, because it's so light, and it looks and feels like a toy! But once you get some real phatness coming out of it...it's cool, lets put it that way. and too everyone playing with vst's, get yourself some hardware, fiddling with knobs is cool, and i feel like once you get something physical like that, you really take the time to learn it thoroughly. know what i mean?
  4. how do i make my website the first one that will appear when people google my bands name, hipakusha? I would have thought it would show up, since we're the only hipakusha on the planet, and our website is www.hipakusha.com p.s, i'm aware that it's still only a coming soon page, but it links to our myspace page, that's why i want it to appear first if people google us. Peace out Joel p.p.s is it something about metatags or some such malarky?
  5. yo, check it out. This is my setup. Took a photo so i have something to look at if i'm away from home and when i want to wack off.
  6. did you get the clear records airnino, or just the regular kind? Oh, and how much of a gap would you have to put between two samples so that you could quite clearly drop the record between them? like 2 or 3 revolutions, or more? the way i'm thinking of doing it is sending them a continuous file, and to line up all my samples so that they all start at 12 o'clock. any tips you'd share after doing it once?
  7. oh yeah, digging this one, real quality. only thing, is there a clicking noise that's out of place in the chorus somewhere?
  8. Cheers man, i really like the idea of the half time drum break, i'm gonna give that one a shot. as for cleaning up those drums, yeah, i'm gonna give that a shot too. They definitely need fixing. Might bang out the drums on the MPC instead, although then i feel like i'm cheating with my "turntable music." What do you guys think, is it cheating, or is the end result the only thing that really matters?
  9. anyone else had a listen to this one yet? delay pedal drumming, metal guitars, screams and profanity, surely this gets some reaction?
  10. New version, mixed a little better i hope. Hopefully this will inspire somebody to have a cut on it. Metal Ain't Dead......Take 2 Peace out again
  11. damn, those levels suck! that's what happens when you're monitoring in crappy headphones because your flatmates are sleeping. will fix and re-up in an hour or two. oh and why the hell does the track have so much silence at the end!! i need some sleep, seriously!
  12. hey guys, sorry to go crazy on the audio posts lately. It's 6:30am Brisbane time and i just got done on the rough draft of this track. Problem is i need some more scratching from 1:58 onwards. Anyone care to volunteer their services? Check the track out. (this is an updated version, the version before this had MAJOR Level issues in the mix!!) Metal Ain't Dead The title gives you an idea of what the tracks about. As has become the way, it's all scratched, and at 6:30am, i'm feeling ok about it. BPM is 154, so it's definitely for the people feeling a little adventurous!! As usual, the more comments (or scratchers!) the better. Peace out
  13. hey guys, cheers for the comments, funny, i was really feeling this while i was making it, but listening to it now it seems to have lost it's way somewhere. More tunes to come...
  14. Bumping this again. Did ANYONE have a listen? comments?
  15. this sounds really tight man. Really enjoyed it. Were you stoned when you recorded this, because after listening to it i feel kinda stoned!! You just sound laidback on the cut, which is cool.
  16. Hey cheers for having a listen. what do you mean exactly? like i should fill it up with some more scratching, or the cuts themselves are a bit sparse, or something else?
  17. Well, after my first shot at multitracking yesterday, and feeling pretty good about it. I thought i'd give it another shot today. To make things a bit interesting though, i set my self a challenge to only use one record..... SUPERSEAL!! Here's how it panned out. Scratchy Seal Madness Let me know what you think please, good, bad or indifferent. Peace out
  18. hey, cheers guys! it kept me up until 7am, so i'm glad you liked it. Yeah, volume differences in the mix are a bit shit, i think i've got to take a bit more care with that. That was my first all scratched track, and they are fun to make. Does adobe audition have like a mixer window, similar to logic or pro tools or something? I found having to change all the volumes with those little lines that run through them a pain in the arse. Messing with faders would be much better. Mayb i should just bite the bullet and get logic or something similar. Expect more soon...
  19. Just a thing i'm kind of working on at the moment. All scratched and multitracked in audition. Let me know what you think. There's some pretty random shit in there, just trying to get some ideas down. Listen Up Close - Bruxism What did you like? what did you hate? All comments and criticism wanted! Peace out
  20. check out the scratchcon dvd, or the shure learn to dj dvd, and check out the beat junkies style of mixing. J-Rocc has some crazy shit going on!
  21. i just had a look at vinyl carvers, and they look pretty spiffy. Should i get them from there, or this vinyl recording place? anyone got more experience with this kind of thing? oh, and if anyone's got any advice to impart before i drop some dosh on some custom records, like things to avoid, fuck ups i might make etc, i'd love to hear it. peace out
  22. what do people suggest? just a simple, dvd player is all i need cheers for any help peace out
  23. Ok, my band is in desperate need of a website. Something simple, but rad looking and effective. The big problem is nobody knows how to make a website!!! who here knows how to do it, and would consider doing it for free, beer, or some money even!? oh, check out our myspace so you know what we're about hipakusha myspace Thanks for any help guys peace out
  24. about 18 months, i'm not really all that dedicated though. My attention span is not great, lol
