You can scrape mod the pcv fader but it's a lot of work. It's on par with the 05 in terms of sound quality (abysmal). Three position transform switches can be pretty interesting if they're the off/on/off variety.

I think these days if you're gonna use a 24s sample then you need to chop it up and flip it to be honest. This has to be hardest part of production IMHO. Sometimes a sample sounds so good as a loop it's impossible to imagine it any other way (something I really struggle with). As far as using plugins goes - I think there's benefit to trying to make the beat as good as you can without effects. Sometimes using effects draws you away from focusing on the simple things like chopping, filtering and mixing the samples as best you can. All this said, my beats are shite so I'd take my comments with a substantial helping of salt. The most important thing is to just keep doing your thing and have fun! PS. I'm at work so can't check the sample but I've sampled 10CC myself before so can't wait to get home and see if you've used the same one! Peace

The thing is the signal path we're testing here is mixer to amp since we've turned the channel fader down to 0. Oh, the session and mic channels should be a 0 too. So, the signal is passing through 1 wire. This suggests that it's nothing to do with the way things are wired. IMHO It's about the 08's inability to add significant gain to a signal without adding ten tons of filthy white noise. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to test it out mang, that's helped me out a lot. pz

I don't know enough about computers to know the differences between Mac's and PC's. I expect the vast majority of people are the same. This pretty much leaves most of us open to exploitation from th computer companies. All I do know is that I've got 2 mates who love computers, work in the industry and obtained a relating degree from Uni. They soley use PC's and the don't rate Mac's. Makes me wonder....
