  1. Not sure what you're trying to to here - do you want to vary the samples volume after it has started playing from a fixed velocity, or do you just want to trigger it at different velocities? Try and explain more clearly, and describe what you would like the end result to be. either way, x2ks solution should have the same effect.
  2. i never really see the point of these tech-speccy threads (no offense intended 2ndhand), but here goes: 2 x 1200 2 x ttx1 mk1s shure m447s Technics slipmats (the ones they give away with mk5s nowadays) Ecler HAK360 Ms Pinky (though the bitch ain't working at the moment  ) music making stuff: PC with all the usual music making jiggery pokery Fostex PM1 monitors Access Virus C Waldorf Pulse Line 6 Echo pro and Filter pro Kazoo
  3. yes! But not too much, mind. I'd take it out and lube it rather than do it in-situ.
  4. they are EXCELLENT for midi sequencing, but not much else. Much more stable than any pc you care to mention and rock solid timing. YOU CAN NOT DO AUDIO ON ONE OF THESE ! I think roots manuva still uses one of these as do plenty of people. I wouldn't recommend one if you're new to computer music though.
  5. i prefer the wonky wax lads myself - lews tunes and nobbsta nutts would blow any of these cunts away! :49_49: pm me if you want one of their tracks
  6. its just a crystal being dragged over some bumps - that's it. The needle itself does bugger all other than shake - a bit like my mates granddad. It still amazes me that technology developed over a hundred years ago is still condsidered to be the finest sound reproduction method - even if it is the biggest pain in the arse.
  7. well i reckon it looks ghey. edit: the console thingy, not monkeys pdx. not sure about the colour of your mixer though monkey. :71_71:
  8. ive got part 9 - ill pm you when i get home.
  9. nice intro though - might hear it on a few tapes i reckon
  10. Had to share this....one of my favourite mixtapes of all time - a nice tape demonstrating basic cutting and scratching but expert programming. Enjoy.
  11. my only criticism/suggestion would be to have your cuts a bit higher in the mix - they seemed to get crowded out at times. Otherwise very nice cuts - I'm not feeling the beat massively its certainly not shabby - quite polished sounding.......is that a vangelis sample ?
  12. i'm with dee - that beats nothing special.
  13. haha! that one's easy......go to the aforementioned wheel and look to your right..... not got very far have you ? still, lots of treats still to come. sorry my writing is retaarded today. no, will give it a stab now
  14. 9600 pro with a REALLY noisy fan......was thinking about going 6800 cos they're a bit cheaper than x800s....any thoughts ? how far have you gotin HL2?
  15. you got a 6800 Dee? what detail level is it on ?
  16. so very true.....but I do recommend you try out Call of Duty and Half-Life 2 though - both excellent examples of the genre.
