from what you're saying it should work..... MIDI automation was missing from the first release of SX2 and external hardware support was a bit shit as well - so make sure you have the latest version. also tell us what you are using as a controller (i.e. make model). also check that the track isn't in 'read' mode as it will ignore anything you do if this is the case.
hmmmm... odd, cos soft samplers are vstis?!? what sequencer/version are you using. also, are you using kontakt or intakt ? i'm willing to bet money it's cubase :49_49:
