  1. things to add to everyones suggestions - get more records with various types of samples ie. CoM, SSII etc.... - if you have a turntable with ultrapitch you can slow down samples so they run out longer like the ahhhh sample. I like to do it with the 'yeahs'.... -practice!!!!
  2. Yeah I just checked on Discogs. People have them but none are for sale
  3. Yeah, it's not like Ironman, Supreme Clientele or Bulletproof Wallets were good albums or anything... just sayin... Aside from ODB, Rza and Method I don't care much for the solo Wu albums. lol... RZA...meh.. aside from his production. Meth's albums meh as well other than a few tracks. Gza - Liquid Swords (Classic) Raekwon - OB4CL & Pt2 (Classics) Ghost - Ironman, Supreme Clientele, Fishscale, more fish.... Ghost IMO has the better solo discog than the rest or even the whole of the WU
  4. AB was kinda right about Ghost not rapping like he used too. I haven't paid much attention to Ghosts releases in the past few years. I'm actually listening to 'Sour Soul' right now. It's decent but it's not the Ghost from way back when. But that's just rap. Rappers change over time. My favorite version of Ghost would be the Supreme Clientele, Fishscale, More fish days. But AB did spit some BS on that interview. It was a dumb shot. But Ghosts response, aside from the numerous quotables, was wack. Can we take it back to the battle days and just keep the beefs on wax? What's with the Youtube responses? WACK. Apparently Ghosts PR people posted it on Reddit as well. SMH...... I love Ghost, he's an OG of this game. I like AB, don't listen to much of his stuff, but I like him for his over the top antics. But I would love to hear bars instead of dumb ass youtube/twitter rebuttals. Soft!
  5. lol I saw that. The other team was meh. I was kinda going through my head as to why there was only 2 entries. I can see why the regular contest is jammed packed as this maybe the only place for them to actually get some exposure. Not everyone has friends that DJ/Scratch. But I even had some issues finding the competition on the DMC online website.
  6. Good job man! The competition is fierce right now. Good luck!
  7. watched it like 3 times already. Crazy Jake! crazyyyyyyyyyyyy!!! **you going to skratcher on Sunday?
  8. I personally delved into the world of Apple in 2009. I was PC guy as well... actually more of a PC gamer (counter-strike) and avid pron watcher.... as you can see my PC ran like shit after a while. Anyway, after owning the iphone 3G I caved and bought a 13"MBP. That was in 2009. Never looked back. The MBP was actually one of the biggest reasons I got into DJing. I liked DJing before but never really got that into it because I never really collected Vinyl or Music. I had some CD's and such but I didn't have the nack for collecting anything. But what my buddy showed me with Serato back then I was hooked. No need to find physical copies of music. Mind you I'm kinda pissed I didn't start collecting Vinyl but whatever. I still use my 13" MBP. I swapped the HD for an SSD a couple years ago and it really rejuvenated it. It's slightly more sluggish with the newer OS but it's my workhorse. Music, browsing, movies, photos(not photoshop), Word etc.... handles everything with ease. There was a learning curve but I consider it minimal. It's just about 6 years since I got the thing and I haven't had any major issues with it. Hasn't crashed at a gig, yet... I would like one of the newer MBPs but the price is just insane. 2K for 15"! I don't even do heavy shit with my current 13". The fixed storage and RAM are big turnoffs. But since USB3.0 and Thunderbolt its kind of quelled that argument for me. Until my current one dies, I continue to bank for that new new. Personally, it was more of an investment. But trust me you'll get sucked into the ecosystem getting a MBP. If you're already proficient with PC's you'll be surprised how easy it is to buy other Apple products and literally turn the switch on and shit just work.
  9. To tell you the truth. I put in fresh 6 D batteries when I got all my portable stuff together. Literally 2 weeks. Used my PT01 on average about an hour a day for the past two weeks. Even set it up with serato this past weekend. Batteries seem fine right now. I do keep another 6 more batteries on hand just in case but it's been good. The only battery life I have to worry about is the speaker and iphone/ipad I have connnected playing the tracks. I thought this was an issue but if you think of it, the PT01 is only really spinning the platter. Don't think it uses that much power.
  10. thats fucking ill.... Now I want to mod my PT01.... maybe something simple like putting in a recess/hole in the area where I would put the Raidenfader so I it sits flush with the PT's body. Oh shit... forgot about all the dam wires..... scratch that
  11. I've been hearing some good things about Apple Music. The big thing that is really selling me on it is the option to download anything from their music library onto any of your devices and listen to them offline. Steve, I know you said something about DRM protection. But will this hinder me from downloading a shitload from Apple Music to use at my next gig? Will music downloaded/lent from Apple Music be usable in Serato or Traktor? Would this be a cheaper option than a Record Pool? I know in a record pool you pretty much buy the music. But renting an unlimited amount of music from Apple seems like a decent option. UPDATE: Not an option in Serato... probably wont be.... sheeeit
  12. Haven't tried it out. I use Spotify on my work computer (PC/Windows 7) and it's decent. Just a few commercials here and there with the free account. There's sooo much music available on Spotify. I'm pretty sure Apple Music will be the same. But personally I really like 22 Tracks for streaming.
  13. Other than users finding a solution there really isn't much hope. What can you do, it's not supported anymore. It's not a huge issue at this time but I'm pretty sure it'll get worse as more updates get sent out on various platforms.
  14. lol... I have a coin on my stylus as well. Its decent.... just not optimal for stabs imo. but its probably my heavy ass hand.
  15. I updated recently. Didn't see anything wrong with my library... yet. The only big issue is with Scratch Live. Now my library views in SSL are all open. All the iTunes folders are open and I can't collapse them. I'm an idiot for updating, but for some reason prior to updating OSX my iTunes account wouldn't log in properly. So I updated and it worked but then SSL was messed. I was able to gig with SSL on Saturday without any issues. But looks like I'm in the market for an SL2 or Denon DS1.... I don't even like SeratoDj.
  16. I don't mod stuff myself and I'm glad you guys are embarking on this. There are only two things I really want on this thing..... Ultrapitch Proper adapter for Carts (M447) If there is anyway you guys figure this out.... I'm going to do it!
  17. This Final? round is pretty serious. The whole first page has some decent competitors. and this one goes for the most creative w/out using TT's
  18. Finally got my Raidenfader on Friday. Wasn't able to hook it up until Saturday morning due to a wedding gig on Friday night. Slept literally for 3 hours and woke up all excited to start skratching. First impressions.... Feels like a Vestax CF... love it! Cut isn't super duper sharp but sharp enough. Also it feels solid. I hear the Frisk is pretty flimsy compared to this. As for the PT01 holding up to the scratching. It does the job. Found it a bit sensitive to harder cuts, but I'm thinking it's more a learning thing when it comes to using a smaller setup for scratching. I actually have a dime on the needle/cart for added weight, I think it needs another dime (20cents, we don't have pennys anymore in Canada). I was running if off of the 6 D cell batteries. Ran it for a good 2-3 hours yesterday at the park. I'm not sure what the battery levels are at right now but I'm pretty sure it's fine. Other than battery life I'm concerned about a couple of things..... Because the PT01 and Handytrax are belt drives. Wouldn't this mean that the belts will possibly wear out as we are scratching on them? Can someone please find a way to Frankenstein a M447 on this thing please!!! But the rest of you guys, please mod this thing.... As nice as the whole setup is right now, there could be some nice mods to it. I like the idea of using the PT01 speaker instead of an external one.
  19. Man.... I was so interested in this thing at first. But got turned off after their current videos, the ones where they tout how "everyone can do it and be a DJ". I like how it's bluetooth. It's great, no wires, no problems. Hell I even have an iPad myself. It was because of the mixfader I held off on the beta Raidenfaders. But I realized after there were some limitations to this device. It's only bluetooth and has no analog in/outs. What happens to people without an iPad/tablet/smartphone? They did further it's appeal by connecting real turntables via USB but again, to a tablet/smartphone. It's cool and all, but you are limited to bluetooth & software. Don't get me wrong I'm sure you'll be able to use a couple of USB turntables, a tablet or two, and actually gig with it?? It's still limited. They really try hard to market it for everyone. But really it's a small niche market. It's a portable scratching device. Not a DJ setup replacement as they seem to be hinting at in their videos. You have to really rely on the software component to use it. If they did add some analog in/outs, then I'd be sold. I don't want to have to rely on software, especially on my ipad.
  20. lol blame Dopey for that one.... not my setup. (*cough 909/pdx2k *cough)
  21. Yessir.... couldn't be anymore obvious lol.... Vekked was there along with some other DMC champs... It's actually run by DJ Dopey & J-tec (TT Monks)
  22. Back in January at the SkratcherTO session.
  23. Fuck.... I've been waiting all day yesterday and this morning for a confirmation on the shipping of the Raiden I ordered last month... Don't have much to say about record burn yet as I've only tested out my PT01 with my PMC05. I'm assuming its due to the tonearm not having a weight adjustment on it and it's probably at a standard setting. It's funny you brought this up, because when I was cutting on my PT01 I noticed the needle skip a little bit and was going to throw a penny on it for added weight. I wont be able to know how it really wears down until I get all the pieces together.
  24. look into the ion Portable. It's the OEM of the Numark PT01. And it's a few bucks cheaper and comes in white!
