any other opinions? the macbook pro she is selling was the first generation (at least 2 years old at this point).

apple users help me out. my friend is selling her 1st gen macbook pro for $800. I was immediately interested as ive always wanted one but when she texted me the specs i started to get second thoughts. I believe the first mbp is running a core duo processor (not core 2 duo) at 1.83 ghz and 512mb of ram (which i know is inexpensive to upgrade). I would be using the laptop for serato, ableton and design work (adobe cs). Now i can either get that for $800 flat or get a new macbook with a 2.4ghz core 2 duo, 2 gb or ram and a 160 gb hard drive for $1291 (also comes with a ipod touch that i can easily sell for at least $200) to me, the specs make this almost a no brainer in favor of the macbook... the only thing that gives me a second thought about it is the casing. ive got friends with both the white and black macbook and they are either stained (white) or oily (black). what would you do?

i definitely lucked out i got it off of ebay. someone had it up for $700 buy it now. i decided to pull the trigger because i found a way to get 35% off of it (25% cashback via live.com ($175) and 10% ebay coupon ($70)). to make things better, when i went to pay for it i had $100 in my paypal account that i never knew about. Considering everything, i paid about $370. they retailed $1000 here in the states when they were available (which i hear they arent anymore due to the dollar's bad exchange rate).

Havent gotten a chance to try it out yet as UPS dropped it off 5 minutes before i had to go to work. Now I have the dilemma of selling one or both of my other mixers (ttm-56 and hak 360.. yeah i know, im a junkie). i'll be posting a comparison between the 3 shortly

yeah, i heard about that too (controller7 forum?). either way, shit is dope man. whether or not it was mixed by willow (aka glk) or if it was just his records. never heard any buddy peace mixtapes. where can i get them?

word. that obey mix is dope. if you havent checked out the gaslamp killers mix yet (originally came out on sound in color in 03, rereleased in 07), go out and buy it. its probably my favorite mix of all time

out of curiosity, what software were you using? ive been thinkin about getting an mpc for years now.. ive just started reading a book on ableton live so im gonna give that a shot before going the hardware route. if i do get an mpc, 2500 looks like a beast.
