  1. A bit off topic here but he has been mentioned, but I saw Semtex live (him and Dizzee were supporting The Prodigy). I dunno how to put this without sounding like a twat, because it is cool that DR has employed him, equal rights and all, but he wasn't great on the cut. Dare I say it was a bit of a gimmick? I am not just trying to be inflammatory but all I'm saying is that if you're gonna play with one arm in front of thousands of people, at least make sure your shit is tight, because then it justifies him being there beyond "because it's a a nice thing to do". Anyway, as you were.
  2. My table is wobblier than a wobbly wobble from wobble world throwing a wobbler. I am gonna change this. I have loads of records I rarely play so have decided to stack them flat into 4 piles and lay a board that was on a cheap keyboard stand (hence the wobble), to make a stable plinth. Any objections? I calculate that I will need 1,240 records. Think I can just about do this. Pics to follow. I may need to build it into 3 stacks.
  3. I tried a similar thing a while back. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vk5IWMoglQ8 I fluffed it, but your video is on it's way
  4. So I tried to explain an idea for a scratch on here (unsuccessfully) a few weeks back but couldn't demo it as it was just an idea so unsurprisingly, people were bemused by it all! Have now managed to nail it, albeit modified from the original plan. I changed it to "palm up" because once you build a sweat up, your fingers simply glide over the spindle too smoothly to actually affect the sound! Am disappointed I couldn't nail it the first way, but the weird hand-movement is growing on me! Next goal will be to adjust the space between my fingers for a slower roll and explore using different numbers of fingers or even dropping a finger (mid) for a "da, da, ... da" effect. Anyway, enough nonsense, here it is @ 9 seconds:
  5. Let's see a mini-QFO and we'll begin discussions!
  6. I need to know more about this!!!
  7. Is this a band? If not, it bloody should be. I'd buy their albums.
  8. "These Lunps" is possibly the best tune.... Ever! http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mr9eNX4VlG4&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3Dmr9eNX4VlG4
  9. I'll keep using presets. I'm not even sorry.
  10. We're any of these beats played at the last SSS? I'll check... Oh wait, I can't.
  11. This is cool. Whilst we're on Maschines... I hope the SSS video is published soon.
  12. What do we want? Now! When do we want it? Video footage...
  13. I'm hoping this beat is on the new SSS video footage...
  14. I wonder if the best/worst DJs are on the new, yet-to-manifest-itself SSS veideo?
  15. Whilst we're on the subject, where's the video footage from SSS?
  16. You can always buy HD-25s and some Tip-Ex if that's your concern...
  17. You can import tunes that are on your phone and you can use an iRig, record a sound, crop it and put it into a sampler.
  18. Yeah it's still no good for arranging and time-stretching, but okay for chopping and basic arrangement.
  19. I used the presets and took hits from the various kits, used one of the synths for the sub and sampled "This is a Man's World" for the horns and "skank". Incidentally, I repitched the hit to get the tuning I wanted. Not that you asked, but there it is!
  20. I didn't think it was that much. I thought it was only £2.99. Maybe. I used to have money and was frivolous. I certainly wouldn't pay that much now! Unless the Traktor app was developed so you could feed a timecode signal via iRig, then it played audio out of the headphone output. Then I'd pay up to £20. I wouldn't even care if it only did one deck so you needed 2 iPhones.
  21. Made this on my iPhone! My earphones are busted though so couldn't test the mix properly!
