  1. Yes... I do agree with you that all options become a little to much. I will create a flow chart so all can see how its connected. Dedicated buttons would be very nice but that involves too much work Im afraid. If I only made one for my self I would def use buttons for everything. I will make that vid soon so you can see how it works in MIDI. Its not a C1 or a PDX like you say.
  2. Yes! Perfect for support! Thanks! Will do that Vekked: Nice to hear!
  3. Yea! Great response here. So timing can def be better. I will have a look at that. Protamento: I can delay it controlled with Portamento Time. I´m just worried it will create some issues with certain midi-keyboards. Just using the "note-on" is pretty safe but incorporating more MIDI Continuous Controllers might be too much. This can def be made if requested but maybe not as standard. And just like someone said the Technics is slower than a pdx. I will record it playing a some notes in a day or two. Then you can see how it behaves. Different egde ranges: Yes. No problem. But how would you configure it without a interface. That is my only concern. Then I need to make GUI and incorporate USB. That is really v2.0 for this project. I can have endless range options. And I could probably distinguish at least 10 with different led combinations. So if someone wants 5 extra "special" ranges I can make that individually for now. USB MIDI: No, dont wanna (for now)
  4. I would check either the ultra-pitch or the regular pitch so that they work. The motor control probably doesn't get the frequency. Both a PDX and Technics behaves in the same way when it detects no "control" frequency. It jiggles back and forth.
  5. You only need to change the small led board. Its easy and I think you need the different colors to navigate. About the times. Switching between normal and ultra is one sec. I can def shorten the time to get into the change pitch mode.
  6. I need your feedback on my Techincs mod. Who better to give me input than all of you at DV. https://youtu.be/OWD_F4Lv684 "Short" explanation how it works now. Normal mode is ±8% and uses the technics original circuit. In the video the green led changes brightness but I will change to how it originally is. Just lit at Quartzlock. Ultrapitch has selectable range ±50%, ±25% and ±16%. The pitch led changes to red and you switch between Normal and Ultra mod by holding the 33 button. The red led changes brightness depending where you are in the range. The Ultra-pitch mode also has a "precision mode" If you short press the 33 button it changes and the red led start to blink. So if you are at -35% and and short press 33 the -35% will be at the 0% on the pitch fader. You then have around ±10% to change the speed. So from -25% to -45%. Short press 33 again and you will get back to ultra-pitch mode. To change the range you hold both 33 and 45 for more than 5 secs and the pitch led starts to blink fast. 50% is red, 16% is green and 25% is yellow. You switch by short pressing the 33 button. Hold 33 to exit and the last selected range will be active. MIDI in. Works just like you think but its not shown in the video beacuse I dont have my MIDI-keyboard at home right now. It works very well tho. Right now its 20 notes but I might extend it to 24. To get into MIDI mode you hold both 33 and 44 for 1 sec. Led changes to orange. I think I will make the pitchfader to change like ±4% so you can fine tune samples. To exit to Normal or Ultra mode (depending where you where before entering MIDI mode) just hold 33 and 45 for one sec again. Calibration Mode. There is another menu you can enter from range selection mode. This one lets you cablibrate the 0% with 0.1% steps. So if your turntable goes a little to fast or slow at 0% you can calibrate this. Only applies to ultra and MIDI mode. Both pitch range and calibration values are saved even if you cut the power to the turntable. Installation. Here is a non populated prototype pcb. But its fitted on the ground screw. Its around 10 cables that need to be soldered on to the PCB. You also need to change the led pitch board with a new that is included in the mod. In comparison to the PDX-2000 Midi mod I did its easier to install. Price around 150€ I think. I havent really calculated the time it takes to assemble and test. So what do you all think? Is there anything you think I should add? Are the ranges ok? Is the brightness change unnecessary? To complicated to navigate? Give me feedback. Dont share the video anywhere please (its unlisted). This post is because I want feedback (good or bad) before finalizing the mod. I might have overlooked something?! Also a BIG thanks to Rasteri for for great brainstorming sessions during development!
  7. Nice! I'm definitely "steeling" this one again at the CSG. #thisyeardonttforgettyourtestrecordsatjimmyswhenyouleaveforhome
  8. I think you should wait a couple of weeks. Just saying...
  9. Great! 20.20 is pure genius! edit: It said bye bye! Hahaha
  10. +1 I right now am fixing my friends 56s. The gain knob has lifted it self from the PCB. I have a ttm57 and I love it. But the amount of time and contact cleaner I have used to get it to work properly is ridiculous. As I have one I have dissected it. It is a whole different design. The scratchbox is a Hifi mixer with an awesome crossfader. The only real downside is the small faders for cue and eq that are poor in quality.
  11. haha! I have tried both. I prefer the S9 because of the effects, pads and quiet fader. But the 62 is gonna seriously drop in price on the used market because djs are nerds and want the newest gear.
  12. I bought two thick pieces of glass. Put the record in the oven (70 degrees Celsius) between the glass sheets. After 10 mins take it out and let it cool of. Have some heavy things on the glass so it cools of under a little pressure. It has worked for me every time. I once forgot a record and it got it destroyed. Made a vase of it instead.
  13. So... I did a demo for Pioneer with the S9 today. Got to play with it 8 hours at an expo. If you all where wondering if Jon was just lying cause he got one for free he wasn't. Fader is very nice. It has a the feeling of an innofader with a little edge bounce. The tension control is useless if you are a scratch dj. Set it to loosest and let it be. Pads are great! Effects are also great! Only used reverb and eco tho... But the effect transform switch is a very good idea. The thing is that is so easy to understand. After 20 mins I knew everything about it. I love the simplicity of it. Everything is easy to access. Cons then: -The gain knob is small and in the wrong place. -The software (its in beta still) was very buggy and non responsive. I really hope they have time to fix this cause its almost worse than traktor ... -Reverse buttons are tiny and the front is a little cluttered if you ask me. -Headphone knobs are too small Overall I would prefer S9 to the 62 any day.
  14. Got a OG 07 and a ISP. My 07 is collecting dust but the ISP is used frequently.
  15. You can hear a slight pop if you have nothing on. But nothing that is bothering when cutting. I did try different op amp solutions as input to the VCA. Here is one before I used a microcontroller. the graph is over the fader movement from one side to the next http://i1292.photobucket.com/albums/b576/Backtrack82/ops_zpsllmxvkql.png
  16. Awesome Rasteri! I did a VCA fader mod for friend in the PT. I would have had great help if you reversed it in april I took the phono signal (after RIIA) and hijacked the line in and made a new preamp more or less. Used a VCA because I was suposed to have a Mini-Innofader. But in the end didn't have any at the moment so ended up with a old vestax 05 fader. Used a ADC on micro from the fader to control the cutin and just outputted 1 or 0 to the VCA. It worked just fine. It could have been done so much better but it worked. Fun project and got to try the PCB machine at work. Im making one for my self in the future and Im gonna study your schematic to make a better circuit. Thanks man!
  17. It was a great weekend as always! Like Sy said "footage wouldn't convey it..."
  18. the app didnt work for me There is a bug with the loading of beats i think
  19. Thanks Dubba! That was all I wanted to know. Its a big concern that SW is that bad now. I totally agree with the faderknob thing. I never liked the original Inno knob. I think I will wait until traktor 3 is announced and see whats NI does. Im in no rush.
  20. My SL1 is slowly dying and I´v been looking at the Z2 cause there is no way in hell I can afford a 62. With the rate NI is putting out gear do you think there will be a new Z2 soon? Or do they prioritize other products? Am also a little a little worried about the quality of the Z2. It seems some people are complaining about cutin and lag. Is it still worth buying?
  21. I suck at graphical things... Sorry no. I have a friend who made a thing for me once thats why I even know about this. I think the 05 has the most iconic and basic look
  22. Get some models here from 3D warehouse and set it up. You can import the models into Solidworks.
